Dear EDSA friends,

I’m so sorry I couldn’t be with you for another unforgettable EDSA meeting ! Unfortunately I have exams during all the week. I will miss you and think a lot about EDSA spirit while working every nights !

Please take a look at my report where you can find an abstract of the work I’ve done during the last months. I enjoy a lot my work as Vice President but I meet difficulties to achieve one of my tasks : contact potential new members. That’s the reason why I invite you to forward me contacts of students from faculties which are not yet members of EDSA !

I wish you a fruitful meeting, and a lot of fun with Marine and Alexandre  ! We are preparing for you the best meeting ever in Lyon 2012 ! Party hard ! ;)

Best Regards from France, see you in Antalya !

I am trustful that EDSA spirit will inspire everyone with good ideas, welcome with all the love the new members and, last but not least, encourage you to PARTY HARD in the very land of it…So enjoy all that Deema, Imogen, Koby and the supporting team prepared for you and don’t forget to taste de famous English tea! Report of EDSA President

Dear EDSA Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to be present at the 47th EDSA Meeting hosted by the Leeds Dental Institute. I would like to extend my deep gratitude to members of the Local Organizing Committee who were working hard over the past year to prepare both high quality scientific programme and plenty of fun social activities Yorkshire style. I would also like to thank to members of the EDSA Board and EDSA delegates who generously devote their time to EDSA projects and another big «thank you» to EDSA sponsors: Colgate/ GABA, P&G, W&H, GC Europe and Planmeca who support our projects.

Over the past few months I have been maintaining and initiating contacts with a number of students, organisations’ representatives, research institutions and companies aiming to foster collaboration, to promote and develop EDSA projects. In September 2010 I represented EDSA at the 1st International MFF-EDSA training course in oral implantology organised in collaboration with Meisinger company and hold a presentation for students from 14 European countries informing them on how theycan get involved in EDSA projects. I also designed an informative brochure which was distributed among all participants. In March 2011 Danilo Arsenijevic, EDSA partnership officer and I attended the world's leading trade and meeting place for decision-makers from dental practices, dental industry and from research and development – International Dental Show in Cologne,Germany. For the first time EDSA was represented as an exhibitor, supported by Meisinger company. This gave us the opportunity to present EDSA activities to students and professionals visiting the EDSA booth and and flexibility in arranging meetings with potential partners. Meetings with a number of dental companies were held during the IDS which I believe will enhance new partnership agreements.Since September I was in contact with several professional organizations, ADEE, FDI, ESDE, ESCD, FEDCAR and student associations: ASDA, IFMSA, EMSA and EPSA. Contact with PasTest Dentistry resulted in new sponsorship for EDSA website.Together with Nicole Nova from Sweden and Graham Oliver from United Kingdom I was developing the EDSA Research Program which will be launched this summer giving students opportunity to do research an an international setting. I contacted a number of companies, dental schools and research institutions, some of them which will support the program.Another questionnaire on conditions for research at European dental schools for both students and teachers, that I was working on together with Mina Tägt Kodhabandeloo from Sweden, Sunkanami Olaore and Hurjoht Singh Virdee from United Kingdom was created and published online. Results of the survey will be presented during the 48th EDSA Meeting in Turkey.I continued working on the EDSA voluntary work project and I am pleased to announce that three organisations from Liberia, India and Cameroon offered to EDSA members opportunities for volunteer work in 2010 and 2011. More information on the projects offered will be presented during the meeting and published on EDSA website.Besides this I compiled and designed the latest issue of EDSA Newsletter, EDSA Board Report and wrote articles about EDSA for ASDA News, EPSA Newsletter and several dental publications in Croatia. Most recently, following successful cooperation with Procter&Gamble on the Smile project coordinated by Imogen Bexfield in Leeds, platinum sponsorship was negotiated and signed with the company. Finally, my colleagues from local dental students' association in Zagreb and I are working on organisation of EDSA Summer Camp and we look forward to hosting colleagues from all over Europe in Zadar, Croatia between 22nd and 28th of August 2011.

I look forward to another fruitful EDSA meeting and to launching new projects in summer 2011.

Best regards,

I would like to begin by extending my most sincere thanks to all the members of the LOC here in Leeds. I am sure that thanks to them this meeting will be a huge success.

In October 2010 I attended the French Dental Students’ Association National Meeting, and in November 2010 I attended the most important French Dental Exhibition (ADF). I have been promoting EDSA and European Dental schools, discussing ways of collaboration with partners and possibilities for new projects.

Thanks to these events, I contacted a lot of new potential sponsors. Micromega was the first to give us a positive answer. Now you can see their logo on EDSA website. We are still discussing with many sponsors for financial support and workshops organization. I guess that 2011 will be a huge success for partnership !

I made the first political contact for EDSA. We need an European students representation at the European Committee level. Thanks to the Council of European Dentists (CED), our opinion will be heard by the highest authorities ! I met one member of the CED Board, Roland l’Herron, and thanks to him one member of EDSA ex-co will attend their General meeting in Budapest in May 2011.

On March 2-6 2011 I was honored to attend the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) Annual Session. As the writing the meeting minutes is still a work on process, I will send you a report of on this successful meeting as soon as possible.

Furthermore, I wrote articles for EDSA magazine, EDSA newsletter and ID Magazine. I’ve continued maintaining the contacts with partner students associations : ASDA, IADS, EPSA, IFMSA, EMSA. I am also preparing an EVP between Brest (FR) and Timisaora (RO), and still continuing to organize the 2012 EDSA meeting in Lyon ! I also participate to the EDSA research project with an Immunology Laboratory in Brest (FR).

I hope you all have a great time here in Leeds,

Best regards, Matthieu WipfEDSA Vice President 2010-2011

Report of EDSA General SecretaryDear friends,

first of all, big thank you for the local organizing committee for all the efforts they've made for us. We are very grateful for all the work you've done. During our first months as exco, we really managed to get together as a team. We had numerous online meetings, and every one of us was very hard working. As a secretary, mu duties were establishing connection between dental students and EDSA, also executive committee and delegates, and it was hard working writing all the emails five times per day. But it was great as well. Also, I was in charge of communication (along with Imogen) with Mr. Guy Goffin from P&G, and also 3M ESPE, with whom I'm hoping to start new collaboration quite soon. At this moment we are trying to arrange some training for the students.I was also in charge of helping prevention WG and partnership WG at the beginning of our term. I didn't have much work there, since my successors were excellent in their jobs. I was meeting Juliane Gnoth in Germany last October and as a result of our meeting, I wrote an article for YDW about our past meeting in Amsterdam. I also helped our vice president with finishing the budget for this year.I am at the moment coordinating new GC training in May and still collecting data for all the participants. Along with our web editor, we collected all the new data about new delegates list and put it online. Secretary work is sometimes not that visible to others but it's still there. I am very happy to work with such a great group of motivated people who really became good friends of mine. I hope we will have very successful meeting in every aspect, and I hope our motto after the meeting will be: work hard, play harder!

I wish you great stay here and all the fun you can get!

My best wishes,Ana StevanovicEDSA General Secretary 2010-2011

Report of EDSA Web Editor

Dear EDSA friends,

after taking on my duties, few changes have been made across the website. My main responsibility was to updating the frontpage and other webpages with the latest news of EDSA. The most significant update was the one of the list of EDSA delegates. The main change that gave the EDSA website a new perspective was the creation of the EDSA official twitter account (twitter.com/edsaweb) which led into a new sponsorship for the website. On my other duties, I designed the official poster of EDSA Leeds meeting, which is uploaded on the website and is included in the ESDA newsletter, and the new bussiness cards for the members of the Ex-Co and officers. In addition, I contributed, along with Elpida Samara, in the article concerning the 9th EDSA Congress which is going to be held at Thessaloniki, Greece in 2012.Recently, I have established a contact with prof. Levy regarding the ADEE-EDSA Special Interest Group on students' exchange.

I am really glad I am involved in our Association and awaiting to get involved in more projects and as a result conduce to the targets of EDSA. I am looking forward to seeing you all again at the meeting at Leeds!

Best regards,Dimitris Tatsis

Report of EDSA Immediate Past PresidentMy dear EDSA friends,I would like to start my report thanking our hosts, for all their efforts in order to organize the 47th EDSA Meeting. Is a really great pleasure to have the event organized in UK, considering that the last one was held in 2004. Considering the position of Immediate Past President, I tried my best to help my colleagues and although I couldn’t attend the meetings that often - due to the time line, I was all the time reading the reports and tried to advise as best as I could.I got involved in the EDSA Magazine and submitted an interview with the Dean for International Affairs - Dr. Hirsch, of my current university - New York University. I was in contact with the representatives of the Young Dentists Worldwide association and considering my experience in EDSA, I was invited to submit an article for their first issue of their official publication. I was in touch with the representatives of the Zimmer Inc. - company well known for dental implants, that are willing to support EDSA in the future and get involved actively in the 9th EDSA Congress from Greece.I was honored to represent EDSA for the first time at the ADEA (American Dental Education Association) Annual Meeting from San Diego, California – where we discussed about the future cooperation and established certain guidelines for some potential projects. I attended the sessions and introducing our association during the part dedicated for the Council of Students, Residents & Fellows. On behalf of EDSA we would like to thank the American colleagues for inviting us. We hope that joining each others meetings will become a tradition in the next future, considering that we already received a positive feedback and the invitation for the following meeting.During the meeting, I met the representatives of some of the EDSA Partners and giving them the update on our activities: ADEE - Prof. Harzer & Prof. Walmsley, Colgate - Palmolive representative - Ms. Veronique Moy and GC Europe Product Manager - Dr. Piyush Khandelwal. Irina Dragan EDSA Immediate Past President

Dear EDSA team,

It is with my great sadness that I would officially like to inform you that I will not be able to attend the 47 th EDSA Meeting, April 10-16, Leeds, UK. As I have not been granted the full coverage of the costs I decided not to take part at this Meeting as the total budget that I would have to reserve for this event is significant.

Considering the fact that the Partnership Office has been working very hard this year I would really like to use this opportunity to thank everyone in the EDSA Partnership team for sharing their ideas, thoughts and devoting time to our on-line meetings and the work that we did. They did a great job and helped me a lot. I hope that we will continue to work in the full swing until the end of our mandate.I would like to inform you all a little bit more about the work that we in the Partnership Office have done from August until today.EDSA Partnership Office gave many useful ideas on how to make EDSA more attractive to potential partners. We also engaged our efforts in various projects that gave our members the opportunity to share their ideas on various segments of EDSA work. EDSA Partnership Office launched a few interesting campaigns on which we got a really good feedback and of which we are all very proud of.

EDSA Partnership Office has launched the new logo. We hope that this will help make this important part of EDSA more recognizable to potential partners and that it will make EDSA Partnership Office members proud of their team. We hope that you like it!!!!

EDSA Partnership Office sent the new EDSA Partnership Letter (developed by our team) to more than 150 Companies.

The design for the new EDSA 2011 portfolio came from the EDSA Partnership Office. EDSA Partnership Office wanted to make the new portfolio that would look fresh, eco-friendly, up to date and youthful. That is why we used a lot of colour and motives from nature. The new portfolio received great reviews by potential EDSA partners and students who came to visit EDSA 2011 IDS stand (22-26 March 2011, Cologne, Germany).

EDSA Partnership Office is proud to say that we were in charge of creating the invitation for this year’s IDS. This invitation was sent to more than 150 addresses. We all hope that you liked the design!!

Partnership Office introduced the new EDSA GREEN campaign for the 34 th International Dental Show. The aim of campaign was to help save the environment by printing less for this year’s IDS. Printed promotional materials were mainly distributed to potential EDSA sponsors. All other visitors to the stand were handled a leaflet which encouraged them to download all of the materials from EDSA’s web portal. We are proud to say that the design of this leaflet came from the Partnership Office itself. We hope that you all like it!!

EDSA Partnership Officer was present at the EDSA IDS 2011 stand along with EDSA’s president Miss Maja Sabalic. I would like to say that Maja and me presented EDSA to more then 50 companies. The companies showed great interest in EDSA. As we are still negotiating about the potential sponsoring and various programmes and trainings that these companies are interested in offering to

As EDSA Partnership Office always wants to get the input on its work we introduced a questionnaire for this year’s IDS. The results will be presented soon!!!!

I hope that this was just a warm up!!!!!!!!

I wish you all a successful Meeting, lots of fun, new friends and a very pleasant stay in Leeds. I am sure the hosts will do everything to make you feel at home!!! Miss you all and looking forward to the report from the Meeting!!!!!
