What is a STaR Chart?

Why is it necessary?
• No Child Left Behind (NCLB)– Requires teachers to be
technology literate and integrate technology across curriculum
• Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology 2006-2020 (LRPT)– Sets standards and goals for
technology across the curriculum
What does it tell us?
• Provides a profile of a campus’ status towards reaching goals of LRPT and NCLB in four key areas– Teaching and Learning (TL)– Educator Preparation and Development
(EP)– Leadership, Administration, and
Instructional Support (L)– Infrastructure for Technology (INF)
How can it be used?
• To update the district’s technology plan• To conceptualize campus and district vision of
