corporate profile What does PCO stand for?“PCO” stands for what we are: a Pioneer in Cameras and Optoelectronics with over 30 years of experience developing high-end camera systems. We have forged ahead to becoming a leading innovator in digital imaging. Our cameras see use in scientific and industrial applications, e. g. life and physical science, high-speed and industrial research.

Why sCMOS technology?We are one of the three inventors of the sCMOS sensor technology. Before introducing sCMOS to the market, scientific applications had to compromise between CMOS sensors for high frame rates or CCD sensors for high image quality. sCMOS on the other hand provides you with the highest resolution, dynamic range, quantum efficiency and frame rates with the lowest readout noise.
