A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, and stewardship of a Vision of Learning that is shared and supported by the school community.

Criteria 1 Advancing a district-wide shared vision for learningContinually reviews and restructures the vision to address changing circumstances and relevant data reflective of the learning community. Guides others in establishing the vision. 

Criteria 2 Putting the vision for learning into operationImplements a vision in multiple settings. Uses data to continually monitor and revise systems to reflect the vision. Solicits from and gives feedback to other administrators to analyze the effectiveness of the school vision in shaping education programs, systems, and resources to positively impact student learning.

The Role of Assessment

1) Read the Characteristics2) Write down 3 thoughts (each on a separate piece of paper) you have about the role of assessment through the lens of High Performing Schools, Crumple each paper into a ball.3) When you hear Dr. Malone yell SNOWBALL FIGHT you may begin to pummel your classmates with your snow balls and return fire with those they throw at you until you hear CEASEFIRE. 4) Pick up all the snowballs near you until the floor is clean and group in triads for discussion.5) In your triad discuss each statement in your group and select 3 statements that resonate with your group to share with the whole class.
