a nigHt oF FirStSIn Elmira’s 5-0 shutout victory over Fredonia State Tuesday, three of EC’s rookies recorded career firsts. Rookie defenders Nick Owen ’17 and Ed-die Nolan ’17 scored their first career goals. Maybe more memorable for Owen is that Tuesday’s game was his first career game with the Soaring Eagles. Additionally, Sal Magliocco ’17 stopped all 28 shots he faced for the first shutout of his young career.

aLL-time vS. nazaretHElmira owns a 4-0-0 all-time record against the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College, which dates back to last season, Nazareth’s first year of NCAA Division III ice hockey. One of those victories came earlier this season.

He has recorded three wins this season, all at home, including a 28 save, shutout performance against Fredonia State on No-vember 19th, his first career shutout.
