My Brothers and Sisters in the Risen Christ,
Christ is Risen, Alleluia!
Do you feel any different when you wake up on this Easter morning? As people of faith, we must all feel excited and joyful for our Lord has defeated death and come back to life.
Yes, Jesus is Risen! We have heard this for so long and so often that we have forgotten how shocking it is. Nobody has ever expected the dead to come back to life, but Jesus did it. He came back to life. The grave could not hold him; death couldn’t contain him; force of darkness could not stop him. He came out of the grave today. This Easter evidence tells us that God always finishes what he has started in us. No matter how dark it is; how long has it been. No matter how many people were trying to put us down, God will take us from Good Friday to Easter Sunday, from death to life, from despair to hope and from sadness to joy. Yes, the Lord is risen. But this greatest news becomes useless if we don’t feel we are part of it; if we don’t feel it is for us. So each of us should ask ourselves: how the Risen Christ affects my life?
For me, personally, Easter has a great impact on my life. I have experienced the Risen Lord. I feel Him. I taste Him. The resurrection has changed my life, deepened my faith, strengthened my love and given me hope and joy. I don’t have to live in guilt and shame any more, for Jesus has paid it for me. He has set me free and made me forgiven. He has cured me from cancer. He brought me back to life. I am not afraid of death anymore. Because of him, every single day, though trials, difficulties, pain, challenge, stress, I am still able to say: This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
My dear friends, life is sometimes not easy. It has mixed feelings of Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Friday is the day of suffering and pain. Saturday is the day of doubt and confusion. But Easter Sunday, the day of joy and victory, is our answer. We will face these three days over and over again in the course of our lives. We must learn to believe that God always finishes what he has started in us, and that it is the end of the story that counts. Today Christ has won. And we know that in Him we shall win the battle of life. His resurrection reminds us that hope must never be lost for as dark as the road may seem, there always lies light at the end of it. So with no fear, let’s keep fighting the good fight and fight with hope and joy, for we are Easter people and Alleluia is our song. I wish you and your loved ones a grace filled Easter. May the Risen Lord fill your hearts with compas-sion, peace and never ending joy. Happy Easter, Alleluia! Fr. Thi Van Hoang

MARRIAGE CONVALIDATION OPPORTUNITY Dear All Civilly Married Couples:
You may have chosen not to marry in the Church because of family issues or timing or concerns about cost or other reasons, and now hesitate to have your marriage convalidated (sacramentally rec-ognized by the Church) because of similar worries about cost or time. WORRY NO MORE! IT IS FREE NOW.
We are going to have a group marriage convalida-tion here in our church on August 17 at 12pm.
To prepare for this celebration, we will have an “in house” marriage preparation session which will take place on April 27 from 9am to 3pm.
If you are interested in getting your marriage con-vilidated, please contact our parish secretary, Car-men, for registration. Attention! We accept only couples that are currently civilly married, and have never been previously mar-ried or divorced. Fr. Thi Hoang

He experimentado al Señor resucitado. ¡Feliz Pascua, Aleluya! Fr. Thi Van Hoang
