IV-V. Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/improvements

Various committees consisting of faculty members and student representatives are formed for improvement of academic standards of the college. The committees meet at regular intervals to discuss the ways and means of improving the quality of teaching and learning. The faculty and students are actively involved in institutional reforms, research & development and consultancy, industry-institute interaction, materials procurement, library development etc. Appraisal schemes like self appraisal and student feedback are effectively utilized for performance improvements. Based on feedback, the academic advisory committee initiates necessary action.

IV-VI. Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good governance

Every Saturday there will be a meeting of Principal with the management in which major issues and future plans are discussed. Principal conducts regular meetings with the HODs every week and briefs the Management. Actions are taken to involve the staff and students in decision making on matters of governance by means of the such committees and discussions, both formal and informal. The HODs hold regular meeting with their teaching and non teaching staff members to discuss on the management of the concerned departments. Every decision is made through the due process of consultations. The Principal hold review meetings with all the staff members twice every semester. The meetings ensure close and constant interaction and exchange of ideas between and among the staff and the management, all leading to democratic and good governance. A student welfare committee headed by one HOD discusses the issues involved in safety health and welfare of students. The committee consists of class representatives from each class one being a lady student. The Student chapters of various professional associations and bodies help promoting participative leadership and democratic/good governance.

IV-VII. Student Feedback on Institutional Governance / faculty performance

Students feedback on the teacher’s performance and institutional governance are obtained every semester by means of a discrete questionnaire/suggestion scheme and suitable remedial measures are taken. The suggestions are discussed every month in the HODs meeting and later by the Principal with the chairman. Necessary actions are taken on the suggestions on merits in consultation with the management where ever necessary.

IV-VIII. Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

Two separate Grievances committees one for teaching and the other for non-teaching staff and students are in place to deal with the grievances of the staff
