EAA 279 meeting July 12, 2019 at Cranland Airport
Members present – 10
Guests - 1
Officers present - Andy Baker, and Gerry Scampoli
The Secretary’s report was accepted as reported in the
newsletter with no changes.
Gerry Scampoli presented the treasurer’s report. As of the end
of June we had $897 in the bank. The
treasurer’s report was then accepted as read.
Old business:
None discussed.
New business:
We had a guest Christine Hagerty. She is a college student
interested in aeronautical engineeringand did not find the projects
available to her at school to be of interest, so she came to see
what we were
about. Gerry took her over to show her his project after the
meeting.
We had a discussion about the clubs finances. Gerry figures that
we need about $4400 to carry us
through the winter. We take in about $5600 from our pancake
breakfasts it we have average weather
and turnouts.
We also discussed what we would need to complete the Sonex in
terms of money but we did nothave a
good answer but it would seem that the most expensive items have
been acquired.
Steven Brown from the FAA is planning on being at our next
meeting. He will discuss homebuilt aircraft safety. We will hold it
at the green hanger and will provide some light refreshments. Chris
Hirl will see if it can be publisized in the Plymouth Aero Club
newsletter and put it out on aviation social media.
Charlie Lohmiller gave us a report on Shannon our Ray
Scholarship person. She completed her CAP Bangor Maine flight
program with about 10 hours. She has started over at Marshfield
Airport with Shoreline Aviation and has an hour or two completed
there. Not quite soloed yet

but doing very well.
We discussed providing ice cream sandwiches or Klondike bars at
the fly-in. We thought that we could try out about 50 bars and see
how they sell. Someone could take them around after things get
rolling.
Meeting was adjourned about 8:10 PM.
