Welcome To the 2019 Developing and Reseaching Advanced Models of Integrated

Primary Care (DREAM IPC) Biennial Conference

We welcome you to the 2019 Developing and Researching Advanced Models of Integrated

Primary Care (DREAM IPC) Biennial Conference. Please take a few minutes to read through the

program, where you will find information regarding conference workshops, plenary addresses,

concurrent symposia, data blitz sessions, poster presentations, networking events and

continuing education credits.

The mission of the second biennial DREAM IPC Conference is to provide a platform on which

innovative clinical practices and research in the field of pediatric integrated primary care

can be shared with other medical and behavioral health providers, researchers and trainees

interested in integrated primary care (IPC).

Building on the success of the previous DREAM IPC conference in 2017, we are proud to

include a very high number of excellent oral and poster presentations this year, indicative of

the enthusiasm for pediatric integrated primary care.

Many individuals contributed to the success of DREAM IPC 2019, including our conference

planning committee, program committee, conference sponsors and conference planners. We

thank conference attendees for your interest, eagerness, expertise and scientific contributions.

We hope you enjoy the conference and we look forward to sharing our passion for integrated

primary care with you all!

About Our Plenary SpeakersRahill Briggs, PsyD, is National Director of HealthySteps. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of the program’s operations, financial sustainability, evaluation and research, policy, model enhancements and professional development and training.

She comes to this role after a successful career at Montefiore Health System in New York, where she grew the HealthySteps footprint from one to 21 practices, serving over 30,000 children annually. The Montefiore HealthySteps model informed the roll out of HealthySteps throughout New York State. Additionally, Dr. Briggs is the founder and former director of Pediatric Behavioral Health Services at Montefiore Medical Group, one of the largest integrated pediatric behavioral health services in the nation.

Dr. Briggs is the editor of Integrated Early Childhood Behavioral Health in Primary Care: A Guide to Implementation and Evaluation, published by Springer (2016) and the recipient of the 2018 Healthcare Delivery Award from the Academic Pediatric Association. She is Associate Professor

of Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Briggs completed her undergraduate work at Duke University (magna cum laude) and her doctoral work at New York University.

Matthew Di Guglielmo, MD, PhD, FAAP, is the chief of the Division of General Pediatrics at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University and Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children; and as an Assistant Research Scientist II, in the Department of Biomedical Research at Nemours. As a member of Nemours’s physician leadership program in 2018, Dr. Di Guglielmo spent a year researching the best ways to bring well-being support and prevention of burnout to the organization. Prior to and during that time, Dr. Di Guglielmo was involved in fellow-wellness programs as part of his role as director of fellows core curriculum course for first-year fellows and program director for the academic general pediatrics fellowship at Nemours.

As a supervisor of medical residents in the primary care clinic at Nemours duPont Pediatrics at Rockland Road, Dr. Di Guglielmo is well-positioned to implement and expand the integration of behavioral health within pediatric primary care. He has interest in co-precepting models and cross-training of medical and behavioral health trainees.

Dr. Di Guglielmo has been named a Top Doctor by DelawareToday® and he has consistently won the Nemours Physician Appreciation Award related to excellent patient service. In 2018, he was awarded the Outstanding Outpatient Preceptor of the Year at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children by the graduating pediatric residents. Dr. Di Guglielmo
