• Step 3: Create a Username.• If you are using this twitter account for brand

management for your business, I’d recommend using your domain name minus the dot com/net/etc. (ie. http://twitter.com/mollermarketing) If it’s just for fun or personal use, use whatever you want as the username.

• Add your email address, personal or business.• Type in the security code then click “I accept,

Create my Account” (if you want, you can read the Terms of Service too).

• Step 4: Start connecting! • As you can see by the picture below, Twitter

asks for your email information. They state very clearly that they don’t use or share your information anywhere:

“We don’t store your login, your password is submitted securely, and we don’t email without your permission.”

Facebook• Facebook is a global social networking website that is

operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc.[1] Users can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region. The website's name stems from the colloquial name of books given at the start of the academic year by university administrations with the intention of helping students get to know each other better.

• A January 2009 Compete.com study has ranked Facebook as the most used social network by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.

Sign Up for Facebook

Step 1Visit Facebook and click on "Register" to get started. Before you sign up, you can "Take the Tour" or look for friends (see Resources below).

Step 2Fill in your name, email address and birthday. You will also be asked to select if you're in college, at a company, in high school or none of those. What you select will determine your main network.

Step 3Check your email. A confirmation will arrive with a link to confirm your email. If you don't see it right away, check you spam or junk mail folder.

Join a Network

Step 1Log in to Facebook with your email address and password. On your first log in, you will land on a page with directions for joining a network.

Step 2Join a regional network. Under "Join a Regional Network," type in your city and state. The box should auto-complete your entry. Facebook will let you know the network closest to you. Select the radio button next to the region you want to join.

Step 3Connect with co-workers and classmates. You must enter a verifiable email address from an approved company or school to join the corresponding network (see Resources below).

Step 4Set up your profile and look for friends. Once you have joined Facebook, you can start adding friends and coworkers. Fill in as much detail as possible on your profile so people can find you easily.
