PRESTIGIOUS PRAVASI BHARATIYA SAMMAN AWARD

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil becomes one of the youngest NRIs to be bestowed with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman

Award for the year 2014

Kochi: Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil Parambath, founder and managing director of LLH Healthcare Group in Abu Dhabi

(United Arab Emirates) has been conferred with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman for the year 2014. The award is the

most prestigious and highest honor awarded to NRIs. Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, who hails from Kerala, has been

running his business in the Middle East for the last six years. The Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award is the latest in his

collection of many other awards for his contribution to the humanitarian cause.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil received the award on Thursday - the occasion of the twelfth edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya

Divas held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9th January every

year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the

development of India. On this auspicious occasion individuals who

have worked in the enhancement of India’s prestige are honored

with the estimable Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to appreciate

their role in India’s growth.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil is one of the youngest Indians to have

received the award. He commenced his humble beginning with

the first hospital in Abu Dhabi in 2007 which then escalated to nine

operational hospitals; Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi

(The largest private tertiary Hospital in the region), LLH Hospital

Electra-Abu Dhabi, LLH Hospital Mussafah-Abu Dhabi, Life Care

Hospital Al Raha-Abu Dhabi, Lakeshore Hospital – India, LLH

Hospital Sohar-Oman, LLH Hospital Salalah-Oman, Burjeel Hospital

for Advanced Surgery – Dubai, More than 30 Onsite Clinics across

Abu Dhabi, LLH Event Medical Service, across the UAE, Oman and

India. Also to industrial medicine for over 250,000 workers; from

pharmaceutical manufacturing to a pharmacy retail chain; he has

founded and heads more than ten organizations. Simultaneously,

he has been actively involved in the humanitarian cause and social

projects that have benefited various communities across the Middle East, India and North Africa.

Dr. Shamsheer was born in Kerala and completed his MBBS and MD from Mangalore and Chennai respectively. In a

short span of seven years he has embarked upon the new heights of glory and success and has established a truly

integrated, end to end, healthcare organization, delivering quality healthcare that caters to the needs of the

community in the Middle East region.

His group, LLH Healthcare, is engaged in providing healthcare delivery, pharmaceutical and health support

services. The group currently operates in the UAE, Oman and India. The healthcare delivery companies include

hospitals offering primary, secondary and tertiary health services as well as industrial and emergency care services.

He is efficiently running nine hospitals which include Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi (The largest private tertiary

Hospital in the region), LLH Hospital Electra-Abu Dhabi, LLH Hospital Mussafah-Abu Dhabi, Life Care Hospital Al

He is also planning to embark upon a new journey by opening a chain of hospitals in India which could serve the

nation’s community with good healthcare & wellness services.

He has also been credited for launching the first seven-star Hospital in the Gulf region - Burjeel Hospital, Abu

Dhabi. Burjeel Hospital works on a new concept of health and wellness care. Burjeel Hospital lays special

emphasis on reviving the lost art of healing along with the best and the most advanced facilities and techniques

in treatment, equipment and diagnosis, and with a team of renowned specialists and medical personnel at the

helm.

He is one of the most influential & successful figures in the Middle East region and his contributions are significant

& have been recognized by the UAE government, Indian government, industry and trade associations as well as

media. He has also been awarded the “Hamdan Bin Zayed Award for Humanitarian Aid 2013”; adjudged the Ernst &

Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2011 for UAE; Shiekh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2009; “Arab Health

International Leadership Award” in 2012. He was also included in the “100 Most Powerful Indians in the Gulf” by

Arabian Business Magazine in 2012; he is ranked among the 100 most powerful Indians in the forbes magazine.

I feel highly proud and privileged to receive so much respect and admiration from my own people. I feel

great honor of receiving this significant recognition from deep of my heart. After receiving such a

prestigious and estimable award I would like to pay gratitude to our honorable president Mr. Pranab

Mukherjee.

My journey from India to Abu Dhabi and vice versa has been astounding. From just one hospital in Abu

Dhabi in 2007 to nine operational hospitals in 2013 across the UAE and Oman I want to thank everybody

who has been a part of my wonderful journey.

I always wished to cater good health and care to the world in the best possible manner I can and so I

decided to choose this platform to serve the people all over the globe and works on the agenda of Health

and Wellness for all.

As we all have acknowledged the fact that youth is the building block and root of the nation and so for the

world’s progress we need to focus on the youth empowerment. LLH group is doing their bit by providing

the youth with jobs and educational assistance through various free awareness and screening camps in

public places and premises of large companies since 2007. The LLH Healthcare group also organizes

various awareness programs and educative talks on Obesity, Hypertension, Aids, Anti –Smoking which is

most of the widespread diseases in our youth. We have also provided jobs and educational aid to the

Mangalore Air Crash victims.We have participated in many community welfare activities as well and will

continue to keep doing it for the rest of the coming year.
