The main image or the main body of the article is this (Adele’s picture). By adding this picture on the second page of the double spread they are trying to explain us the importance of this article as it is entirely based on her. This is the title/

caption of the article which plays an important role. Without adding the title of the article we cant make the readers clear that what exactly the article is talking about.

Page 9: Double spread analysis

This is the drop cap which is basically the bold letter at the start of the first word of the very first sentence in the article. This is done to give it a fresh look and to attract the reader. These are mostly done in bold “times new roman” font which is considered to be more appealing. This is the

footer which is placed at the foot/ bottom of the page.

These are the pull quotes which are the phrases that are written within the inverted commas in a dialogue form.

These are the blurbs which are in a form of a phrase or a sentence, but they aren’t placed inside the inverted comas. This is the header which is

placed at the top of the page either at the right hand side or the left hand side.

This is the strap line which is used to give a little information about the main body of the article. For example in this magazine the strap line ‘women who rock 2012’ tells us about ‘Adele’ as the singer who achieved the most in 2012.

The horizontal line which acts as a separator between two sentences.

This is the by-line which tells us about the writers view about the title/ caption.
