Images There is one main image of Adele that is a close up black and white shot. The image has the same look Adele had for her newest album cover, which is something the target audience can subconsciously link to. It matches the rest of the cover as the whole theme is a monotone house style. The dark eyeliner applied to Adele’s eyelids are the first things the audience would see when they look at this page as it is the darkest colour included on this page. It could connote that Adele is a fierce independent women and is not afraid to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Her hair is wild and free, which is a connotation to her actual character, as she is a open-minded and easy-going person who gets along with anyone. It also implies that she doesn't allow people to make her look completely perfect, wanting to remain as her true self and focus more on her voice and music rather than her looks, which are superficial. Colours The image is in black and white, giving it a vintage feel to the overall page. Everything is light apart from Adele’s eyeliner, which stands out and is the first thing the audience would be immediately aware of. This is a link to Adele’s album cover, as her eyeliner catches a lot of attention and was also in black and white. Columns There is only one column used in the article. This is done because the magazine is targeted towards teenagers, who don’t enjoy reading a lot of things, so keeping it to two columns, will be preferable so that they can keep the reader more hooked. ImagesThere is one main image of Adele that is a close up black and white shot. It also implies that she doesn't allow people to make her look completely perfect, wanting to remain as her true self and focus more on her voice and music rather than her looks, which are superficial.

ColoursThe image is in black and white, giving it a vintage feel to the overall page. Everything is light apart from Adele’s eyeliner, which stands out and is the first thing the audience would be immediately aware of. This is a link to Adele’s album cover, as her eyeliner catches a lot of attention and was also in black and white.

ColumnsThere is only one column used in the article. This is done because the magazine is targeted towards teenagers, who don’t enjoy reading a lot of things, so keeping it to two columns, will be preferable so that they can keep the reader more hooked.

Pull Quote“I knew I wanted to write completely alone”. This is the pull quote within this article. It has been typed up in bold and the lines are more spaced out compared to the rest of the text. This is done in order to tell the audience what the article/interview may be about.

Images There is one image that has been used in the article, it is a full bleed image of Marina in a long shot that shows her whole body. The background, like it was on the front cover, is a simple block colour backdrop. Marina is wearing a green dress with gold embellishments that shows off her assets perfectly. Her dress is tight fitting and is a mermaid style dress giving it a more sexier look. Her look has been given an old-fashioned look to it, as her hair looks as though it has been crimped and her outfit overall looks vintage. The only piece of jewelry present is a big gold ring that is visible in the picture. The ring was added to this look because it matches the gold detailing on her dress and gives her a royal look too. Her makeup is very subtle and natural looking, with her eyes being the center of attention. The colours of the image are very vibrant but not over empowering, The green dress makes Marina stand out more as it looks like she is a mermaid.

ColoursThe image is very colourful, which makes it eye catchy. The photographer has made sure Marina is the only subject that stands out, so has used white as the backdrop and the green dress to add elegance along with the gold details.

ColumnsThere are four columns used in the article. This is done because the magazine is targeted towards teenagers, who don’t enjoy reading a lot of things, so keeping it in four simple columns, will be preferable so that they can keep the reader more hooked.

ImagesThis is an article from a unofficial K-Pop magazine featuring two members from the boy band BTS. The first image is of the leader of the group ‘Rapmonster’ sitting in a room surrounded by mirrors and broken pieces of pottery/statues. The image links back to BTS’s most recent music video for their hit ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ so it allows the audience to make a subconscious link between the two things. The room is dark but Rapmonster is wearing bright coloured clothing (burgundy blazer and denim jeans) which make him the centre of attention. Rapmonster is squatting over in the middle of the image, once again reinforcing his importance. His body posture portrays him as a strong and fierce male and his piercing eyes are looking directly at the camera, showing his masculinity. The other image is of the visuals (face of the group) ’V’. His image is a mid-shot focusing on his hair and eyes. The lit up words behind him give a radiating glow to V and makes him looking enchanting. His bright hair colour contrasts with the rest of the colour scheme but this compliments it as he looks unique. His clothing is a little less eye catching for the purposes of keeping the focus on V’s face since he is known as being BTS’s visual and the best looking member.

Page numbersOn every page of the magazine, the page numbers are written at the top along with the date and the entertainment company (agency) the featured artists are from. BTS’s agency is ‘Big Hit’ and it has been added to the article so that they can promote their company and get future trainees to audition and join them instead of other companies. I think this is a smart idea and it is also a very typical thing that Korean agencies do. The K-Pop industry is extremely competitive, not only in terms of the artists’ popularity but the agencies are also just as important as being among the top three puts the artist and the CEO in a good position financially.

ColumnsThere are three columns used on the first page whereas on the second page only one column has been added. This layout suits the article overall as one image is landscape and the other is portrait, adding more dimension to the pages.
