Analysis of written articleThe article itself is about the past year (2009) when he got accepted in the mainstream music scene , winning awards and also talks about himself and a bit about his life so far

The style of the article is an informal sense , its as if what ever Dizzee Rascal had said was written down such as slang words like “Man” , this style also relates to the young target audience who most probably use the same slang terms

It is written in 4 short columns each of approx75-100 words so that it does not alienate the young target audience who have grown up with a dis-content for reading and don’t want to be sat reading a long article when they could be going out

The main heading/headline is quite dramatic and is also a play on the phrase from rags to riches as “Tags to riches” this links Dizzee Rascal Back to his hip-hop/Grime origins and the youth target audience that comes from the lower working class areas who’s surrondings are filled with tags and shows them that they can achieve success in any area they compete in

ANALYSIS OF ARTICLES- DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD 2

The main image is of the same person 4 times (Johnny Marr former guitarist of The Smiths) this links to the description of the smiths music that it is for lonely people and in this picture the only people Johnny Marr is seen with are himself

The text is the main feature of the article and the image is the second thing to the article , as the images don’t encroach on the space of the article showing its special

More pictures show Johnny Marr as being on his own again re-affirming the thought of him being lonely like his music

Analysis of written article 2

The article is written in a generic interview style with the writer asking Johnny Marr questions and him answering them in his comeback , the article is informal and throughout the article Marr speaks like he is speaking to someone in a pub ,which links him back to his working class roots and to the target audience of NME magazine , who aim to target young lower social class males .
