CourtlegalizedabortionthroughtheRoevsWadeCase.Since
1973therehavebeenover50millionabortionslegally
performedinourcountry(3,700abortionseachdayinrecent
years).Abortionhasbeenforcenturiesandcontinuestobetoday
agravemoralwronginoursocietyinspiteoftheSupreme
Court’sarguments.Freelyandknowinglychoosingtodestroyan
innocenthumanlifeafterconceptionisamortalsinandneeds
theforgivenessandreconciliationofourLordandtheChurch
communitythroughtheSacramentofReconciliation.�
AsachaplainforProjectRachelwhichtriestoservethose
women,andevenmen,whosufferfromemotional,mentaland
spiritual�����abortiontraumaandpain,Ihavearealproblem
withthehateandjudgmentsdirectedtowardthesewomenand
men,e.g.callingthem‘murderers.’Ihavewitnessedandlistened
tothestoriesoftheirbrokenheartsandsorrowoverwhatthey
haveparticipatedin.Ihavefoundsituationaftersituationof����
������thatcloudedtheirgoodjudgmentatthetimeoftheir
pregnancy.Ihaveregularlymetwithpeoplewhostillafter30or
40yearssuffersilentlywithin,evenafterparticipatingintheSac-
ramentofReconciliation.Ihavefoundtheirsorrowtobesincere
andtheirhopeforpeaceintheirlifesuchalonging.Ifwesay“we
respectlife,”thenweneedtorespecttheirlivestoo.Weshould
wanteveryonetobeabletobeasproductiveaChristianaspossi-
ble,especiallyafterthatpersonhasmadeagravemistake.Thisis
themindofGodforthem.That’swhyGodiswillingtoforgive
themandtoforgiveallofussinnerstoo.Let’shatethesinand
teachaboutthesinfulnessofabortion,butlovethesinner(a
thoughtfromtheGospels).�

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults: Prepare for the sacraments of initiation with a small group to join the Catholic church. Call Sarah Daszczuk.
Infant Baptism: Parent sessions are required. Infants receive the sacrament during the Eucharistic Celebration every 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month.
Other arrangements are possible. Call Sarah Daszczuk.
Confirmation: Youth at least 16 years of age or adults seeking to be confirmed, call Sarah Daszczuk.
First Eucharist: Parent/child preparation required. Contact Karen Farrell.
Reconciliation: Saturdays 4:00-4:45 PM or by appointment.
Marriage: Arrangements should be made six months in advance. One of the parties must be a registered parish member and a practicing Catholic.
Weddings on Saturdays, 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, or Friday evenings.
