Bonjour! Destination Paris.

Imagine you have a flight to Paris in a few days. Oh NO! You have to

communicate, and you do not speak FRENCH. What will you do? How will you be able to enjoy your stay in the beautiful French Capital? How about

you and your friends get together and start researching on how to make

your visit fun.

Task.• You and your friends will look for ways to

communicate with people in France. You have to learn about the culture, the art, and the visiting sites.

• You have to work as a group and each will have a role– the Tour guide– The transportation expert– The food expert– The fashion expert

The tour guide

• The role of the tour guide is to learn about the different sites in Paris.

• Learn about the country you are visiting: some history and current events

• Find out about housing• Discover the different types of art and

monuments • The tour guide will also be money manager

for the housing, food, transportation and shopping

• It is a really big responsibility, however you will be responsible for the trip

The transportation expert• Do not forget your forecast, you have to find

out about the weather before you go anywhere.

• Let us know how you arrived to the city of Paris.

• identify the many ways you can go to and from Paris to other parts of Europe.

• determine the many ways to travel to and from the places you want to go without having to spend too much

• Also uncover if it is possible to travel by foot to better see the beauty of the city

The food expert• Places where you can eat• What types of food should be recommended

to eat. (do not forget you are in a foreign country so try new types of food)

• Do some research on if the water is safe to drink (tap water for example different country different habits)

• Find out which dishes are mostly eaten by the people of the country

• See if there are similarities in what the French eat and what you eat.

The fashion expert• Learn how the locals dress.• Find out what the trends are• Does the country have any famous

designers, artists, painters, architects, museums etc..

• Anything you think and know has to do with fashion beauty and styles. Keep in mind that fashion falls into a wide category.

Process• This has to be presented to the class 5mns per

person• You will learn the basic greetings used

– How to ask for something properly– Asking for directions

• You will create a PowerPoint presentation– Include pictures, color, creativity, and all of the

research outlined on the next page

• You must research information about the country itself. A good place to start would be with a round trip ticket from your country to the Charles de Gaulle airport

• when you complete your investigation of different sites and have gotten enough information. you will to combine your knowledge with of the rest of your group and present it to the class

logical and clear.  It should also captivate the interest of the audience.

Conclusion

• Paris is a wonderful city with much to offer. It is loaded with culture, history, and is also considered as the city of lights! Now that you have completed your short visit to Paris, you learned about the best visiting spots and know where to go if you ever take a real trip across the Atlantic to Paris. Don’t forget to invite your peers to come visit with you.

Teacher’s page• This web quest was originally designed for my 6 and

7 grade Language class. It is created to act as an introduction to language and culture. This web quest will allow students to see that there are different cultures and different languages in the world besides English and Spanish. It will allow them to travel to a different part of the world without having to go far. Discover the differences in habits.

• Make sure the students can locate the place they will be visiting on the map and what it’s flag looks like

• This WebQuest assignment should take a total of two weeks. But that will depend on how much information and how advanced the students are. This is to get the students in touch with a new culture and language. This will introduce them to it.
