College and university students as well as teens use it extensively to get global access. These social networking sites have become a raging craze for everyone nowadays.Social-networking sites prove more of a distraction than a useful tool. The EMOTIONAL EFFECT of friend requests and unimportant news feeds on sites like Facebook eat up valuable time that could be spent solidifying contacts in person. unfortunately in using social networking/ media we have forgotten all preventive measures. because we have addicted them, so disadvantages ratio is increasing rapidly compared to advantages. 

ADDICTION . The most common

disadvantage of social networking sites is addiction. Often users of these sites get addicted to it. They spend hours using these sites and it harms their performance in other fields. It causes mental health problems and sometimes it harms their body too. Sometimes users provide their personal information to others which is insecure.

TIME WASTAGE AND LACK OF CONCENTRATION

on net get attracted to social media sites and get distracted from their work , leading to time wastage.

Loss of motivation in students

The student’s motivational level reduces due to the use of these social networking sites. They rely on the virtual environment instead of gaining practical knowledge from the real world.

Reduced learning and research capabilities

Students have started relying more on the information accessible easily on these social networking sites and the web. This reduces their learning and research capabilities.

Effect on health The excessive use of these

sites affect the mental as well as physical health.

They take excessive amount of coffee or tea to remain active and focused which effects negatively on their health.

Reduction in real human contact

The more time the students spend on social media sites, the less time they will spend socializing in person with others. This reduces their communication skills. The employers are getting more and more unsatisfied with the communication skills of the fresh graduates due to this reason. The effective communication skills are key to success in the real world.
