1. Go to the web address of the Elastix Server Login page. The web address is
determined by the customer, for this guide we have used the IP address
192.168.1.75
2. On the Login page, type the username and password for an administrative user into
the Username and Password fields, see Figure 4-1. The username and password are
determined by the customer.

5. Click on the Submit button to add an extension, see Figure 4-3. This will take you
to the Add SIP Extension page.
Figure 4-3. Add an Extension
6. On the Add SIP Extension page (Figure 4-4), fill in the following information:
• User Extension (701 in this example)
• Display Name („AnalogPhone‟ in this example)
• secret („h7Dka3Rf9si0t‟ in this example)
Figure 4-4. Add SIP Extension
7. Click on “Submit” button at the end of the page, and you will see a similar page on
Figure 4-5 displaying the “Apply Configuration Changes Here” pink ribbon on top
of the screen. Click on there to apply changes.

8. With this you have just finished creating a SIP extension that will be used by the
DINSTAR DAG1000-8S to integrate an analog phone connected to it. Repeat Steps
5 through 7 to similarly create another extension with number (different values on
Step 6) to be used by the IP (SIP) Phone to register as well (extension 302 in this
example). Once you finished you will see something similar to Figure 4-6.
Figure 4-6
9. You will need to enter the information from the extension created on the Elastix
Server into the DINSTAR Gateway.
For the initial configuration, refer to the DINSTAR DAG8000-8S User Manual
found at: http://www.dinstar.com/Product/Product_23.aspx?typeid=11#

12. Now we are going to configure the SIP Server into the gateway. Go to the menu
“SIP Server” located on the left side of the DINSTAR Gateway WebUI (Figure 4-
8):

Primary SIP Server Port: (Default value)
Register Interval: (Default value)

13. To apply changes click on the button “Save”. Now go to the menu “Port” to
configure the FXS ports (See Figure 4-9).

14. Click on the button “Add” and enter the information of the SIP account that we
previously configured in Elastix Server in step 6 (See figure 4-10).
Port: 0 (Choose the port you want to configure)
Primary Display Name: AnalogPhone
Primary SIP User ID: “701” in this example
Primary Authenticate ID: “701” in this example
Primary Authenticate Password: “h7Dka3Rf9si0t” in this example
Figure 4-10. Ports
15. When done press “Save” button. The FXS port now should be registered with
Elastix. To check this go to the menu “Status & Statistics => Registration” (see
Figure 4-11).
Figure 4-11. Status
16. To test the settings, pick up the previously configured IP (SIP) Phone and call to the
analog phone that is connected in the FXS 0 port of the gateway by dialing the
number 701. When the call is established, speak into the phone and verify that the
other IP (SIP) Phone can hear your voice. Now make a call from analog phone to
the IP Phone (from 701 to 302) and check the call is established correctly.
If you have troubles when hanging up calls, please check that the Call Progress
Tones are correctly configured for your country in the gateway. It is possible that
you have to modify some values in the Tones such as frequency, amplitude or
cadence. To check this, go to “Advanced => FXS / FXO”. See Figure 4-12
PaloSanto Solutions DINSTAR DAG1000-8S and Elastix Server Setup Guide
8
Figure 4-12. FXS / FXO
For example in the Busy Tone:
- 480 is the first frequency - 230 is the amplitude of the first frequency (The lower this value, the more
volume you get) - 620 is the second frequency - 230 is the amplitude of the second frequency (The lower this value, the
more volume you get) - 500 is the cadence of the frequency - 500 is the cadence of the silence
This step completes the procedure to integrate analog phones with Elastix Server
using the DINSTAR DAG1000-8S.
