Creating a Digital Story

Step One

• We are going to add action buttons.

• In your drawing tools select the forward arrow• Drag it to the bottom RIGHT• Action Menu: Click go to next slide when

clicked• Repeat for back arrow

• Or Slide Show>Action Buttons

Step Two

• Think of your story idea and create a PowerPoint presentation.

• Remember this is like your book so use pictures and do not put too many words on a slide.

Step Three

• Add pictures, clip art, word art or use the draw tools to create your own pictures to make your story pop!

• Be sure to SAVE early and SAVE often.

Step Four

• Once your slides are complete and you have edited your story, it is time to turn it into a digital book.

• SAVE all of your slides

Step Five

• Add voice recording to your book.

• Get a headset with a microphone• Go to INSERT>

– MOVIES and SOUNDS– RECORD sound

Step Six

• Optional: Click on the name box, delete the words recorded sound, and SAVE with a meaningful name.

• Click OK• Drag the loudspeaker off of the page because

we are going to have sound play automatically.

Step Seven

• Setting up the audio to play automatically• Go to SLIDE MENU> Custom animation• In dialogue box select “With Previous” option

in the START drop down menu

• Play your slide to test it out

Step Eight

• SAVE your work to your teacher’s folder, under your name.

• Congratulations! You published a digital book!
