It marks Duggan’s first endorsement since taking the oath of office in January. Fishman, a Birmingham attorney and small business owner, worked on Duggan’s campaign team in 2013. “Ryan is emblematic of the political leadership we need to create a viable future for the state of Michigan. He understands the role we must all play, working together across county lines to build the brighter tomorrow we’ve too often been promised. In this moment, he is the man for the job in 13 th District,” explained Mayor Duggan. "Ryan is the independent voice his voters deserve,” said Duggan. Making his first foray into public service in his 20’s, Fishman sees himself following in some of Duggan’s footsteps. Fishman also worked in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office after Duggan’s tenure under Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy. Fishman is running for the open seat in the State Senate district that includes Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Clawson, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, and Troy.
