Many of our cats and kittens were in quarantine for a while due to an outbreak of URI (upper respiratory infections—a/k/a the common cold). However, now most of them are healthy and would very much like to find a loving home. There are all sizes and colors available. The males have already been neutered, so they can go home the day they are adopted. The kittens shown in the pic-ture are just a sample—come visit!

What? You’ve never heard of a Catahoula Leopard dog? Well, not exactly the most common breed of dog found around here, but much loved in many circles. They are a very old breed; one that was bred to guard and work livestock. Reported to be a highly intelligent dog that think for themselves, it’s also said that they are gentle enough to play with your children. They are very active and require lots of exercise; best suited for a farm or ranch where they have many acres on which to run.

We believe we have 5 Catahoula mix dogs at the shelter; Jack, Nate, Lou, Margo, and Macy. Come meet these impressive working dogs!

Needed: Dog Walkers

Our dogs have really suffered from lack of exer-cise—the hot weather has discouraged all our faithful dog walkers. As the weather is beginning to get cooler, please come back and help exercise our dogs and keep them healthy and happy! They look forward to get-ting out of their cages for a romp in the yard.

Dog walking requires an orientation session first, so if you haven’t done that, call Janice or Robyn and make an appointment—you’ll be able to start walking the same day!

The Fund-raising Committee would MUCH ap-preciate any donations of soda in the five flavors shown. The last time we asked, you donated a whopping 696 cans—and now it’s all gone. Jeanne (The Boss) has estimated we will use 320 cans at Farm City Days. Donations can be taken to ACARF, or give us a call at 365-8155 and we’ll pick them up! Thank you!

Parker

Thanks for sharing this

newsletter with others!

Parker is a tiny Chihuahua mix male puppy. He may weigh only a bit more than four pounds, but he is mighty in his heart. This sweet little boy is currently being fos-tered, and his foster family reports that he is “completely delightful”. He is responding well to crate training, and will even go into his crate on his own for a nap. Parker loves to play, but he loves to snuggle every bit as much. As Chihuahuas so often do, Parker adores being car-ried. He’ll be happy if you carry him often, because what he really wants is just to be with you.
