Next visit the Sumbay Caves, home to the rock art of the first humans that lived in the Peruvian highlands, before reaching the volcanic “White City” of Arequipa. ANDEAN PLAINS AND ISLANDS OF DISCOVERY (Arequipa - Lake Ticaca - Cusco) 2 nights / 2 days: With an evening departure from the Baroque city of Arequipa, you will head towards Lake Ticaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Later on you will cross through deep valleys and high mountains, where camelids graze in the wide open plains of the Peruvian Alplano.
