Our meat division operates from 6 state-of-the-art EC approved cold stores – Bellshill, Newcastle, Leeds, Chorley, Nottingham and Newport – with a fleet of 60 refrigerated vehicles delivering orders to over 1500 customers, region by region. The scale and penetration of our business with the assurance of financial strength and total reliability ensures priority treatment and continuity of supply of the finest quality meat from tried and trusted producers in the UK, Europe and from all major meat processing centres around the world.
Above all, however, it is the unparalleled experience and expertise of our sales team that really makes the difference at Dalziel. They know exactly when and where to buy, obtaining maximum value for our customers through the special supplier relationships we have built up over 50 years as one of the UK’s largest meat wholesalers. Thanks to the strong working partnerships we enjoy with leading specialist beef suppliers at home and abroad, our customers can count on a continuous supply of top quality beef from the UK and other accredited sources worldwide, including South America and Southern Africa. All our supplies come from EC approved abattoirs and boning plants with, of course, the reassurance of full traceability.
Dalziel customers also benefit from our buying expertise in selecting the most appropriate supplier for different cuts and different regional markets, ensuring the finest quality in every range from prime Scotch fillet to beef trimming. All our fresh cuts are vacuum packed for extended shelf life, and customers requiring frozen beef can order with complete confidence that we only buy products that have been blast frozen at the peak of freshness.
Although most of our customers now choose to buy all their essential beef supplies in boxes from Dalziel, many butchers still prefer to cut carcasses the traditional way and buy boxed products from us to supplement their own butchery. Either way, they all benefit from the convenience and cost-effectiveness of being able to buy only what they need, with no wastage and maximum pound-by-pound profit in every piece!

As British lamb is at its delicious best for only a few short months of the year, we look further afield to the Southern Hemisphere – primarily New Zealand – to meet the demands of our customers for an uninterrupted supply of finest quality lamb and mutton all the year round.

New Zealand is the natural choice for its temperate climate, superb sheep rearing grassland and, most of all, for the world leading expertise of its top brand producers. From decades of experience sourcing the vast majority of our lamb supplies from selected NZ producers, we know that nobody does it better. Their packaging and labelling is second to none, with the reassurance of totally consistent product quality inside every box. And as a large proportion of our lamb and mutton goes to catering butchers and specialist wholesalers supplying the restaurant trade, we also choose New Zealand lamb for the assurance of supplies from Halal licensed abattoirs backed up by full certification.

We have developed a particular expertise in the supply of poultry products over recent years, not only to offer more variety of choice to our traditional retail butchery customers but to meet ever increasing demand from specialist butchers and wholesalers serving the catering sector.

With such a limited shelf life, freshness is an all important consideration for any butcher buying chicken products ... and, therefore, a major factor in choosing a supplier. So it’s reassuring to know that we receive all our supplies daily from established quality sources both in the UK and throughout Europe, carefully selected to provide the finest quality in every grade.
We can supply trussed and untrussed whole chickens in a full range of sizes (usually in batch quantities of 6-8 birds per box), either fresh or frozen depending on individual customer preferences. We also supply a complete range of cuts such as legs, drumsticks, thighs and wings, with chicken fillets by far our most popular range with customers in every region. These are supplied in either gas flushed 10kg boxes, each containing 2 trays of approximately 25 fillets per tray – the ideal choice for immediate counter display direct from the box – or, if you prefer, you can choose the value price option of vacuum packing.
TURKEYTurkey isn’t just for Christmas ... so for the assurance of all year quality, we source the vast majority of our supplies from Italy as the recognised European centre of excellence for turkey production and primal cut processing. While demand for whole fresh or frozen turkeys is always high, we find that the increasing preference amongst our customers these days is for breasts only which we supply in vacuum packed quantities of 4 double breasts per box.
SPECIALIST POULTRYWe pride ourselves on our record for meeting every customer need. So whenever you have the need to source specialist poultry such as Quail, Geese, Guinea Fowl or Barbary and Gressingham Duck, it’s good to know you can count on Dalziel to deliver with a normal turnaround time of just 48 hours.
