December 2009 BURSTING INTO LIFE Our ministries within the Biblical Studies Department in YWAM Muizenberg are expanding! What a joy! Being part of the leadership team at this point in time is exciting as we see new ministries being birthed. This also means the expansion of my responsibilities as I oversee and help manage our ministries. 9 Month SBS September saw the start of a new term and it’s been our biggest in 10 years!  With 3 schools running on our campus, we are literally bursting at the seams. The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) alone with a total of 34 staff & students are just managing to fit in one classroom. But this is a good thing! SBS 2009/10 we get to train up an array of individuals such as: a Zambian pastor, a couple in their 70”s (proof that at any age God can call you to missions), a former Islamic scholar who got radically saved, a bunch of youthful South Africans, even a local pastor’s wife! While I’m not directly staffing this school, my leadership still involves mentoring students and managing the financial aspects of the school. Cape to Cairo Since we are now the regional hub for Africa we saw our arm stretch all the way to the top of Africa. We partnered with the SBS in Egypt when, our Titus Project Leader, Marysol went to teach the book of Acts. This is a restricted Bible school and the only Arabic speaking one of its kind in North Africa/Middle East. We are now in discussions to run Titus Project there one day in the hopes of creating Arabic speaking Bible teachers! It is no secret that I love Egypt having spent some months there prior to my ministry with YWAM. Maybe I get to go back sometime in the near future. Pioneering in Swaziland January 2010 sees the start of our pioneer school on location in Swaziland with an aim to bring training to Swazis and support the local YWAM base. This 3 month course is a first term of SBS which covers most of the New Testament, overview of Old Testament and introduction to the Prophets. Two of our Mo- bile staff members will run this school. Mobile TeamOur mission statement defines us as "a hub for Biblical training in Africa". The mental picture we have is of an international airport hub, with people arriving and departing. So staying with that picture, here are the two sides:

ARRIVALS: the people coming in to receive training by running a 9 month Bible School. DEPARTURES: the side of the hub called the Mobile Team. Here is some of what this consists of:

My involvement within these ministries is similar to that of SBS: assisting leaders and financial management.

September this year marked my 7 year anniversary in full time mis-sions. I took some time off in August to refuel and felt God redefining my call. During my journey of refreshment and processing I got to

read this great book. Here’s one of my favorite quotes, a truth which burst forth new life for me per-sonally:

Come as you are, trembling, and learn to rest. Then go out into life doing what’s right because you’re privileged to do so, because you want to be holy, not because doing right is the way to a pleasant life. Life may provide rich blessings. Or it may not. Either way you can know God.

- The Pressure’s Off by Larry Crabb

I’ve found a new tenant for my flat in Port Elizabeth starting 1 January. This is a huge relief as this income supports my ministry.

Wishing you all restful holidays and a wonderful Christmas spent with your loved ones.

In just a few days we enter into a new decade, I pray it’s a fruitful one for you! THANK YOU for another year of your continued support in prayer, love and

partnership with me in ministry.

TITUS PROJECT TITUS LOCAL PIONEERING PARTNERSHIPS

Our 3 month ministry that trains teachers and sends teaching teams throughout Africa to meet the need of Bible training.

Year-round ongoing teaching ministry in our local community. Working with churches, informal township Bible schools and other ministries such as prison ministry and orphanages.

Multiplying schools and minis-tries throughout Africa. Currently we are committed to seeing a YWAM base established in Bot-swana. This is in development and will be fully launched in May 2010.

Ongoing partnerships throughout the continent such as Swaziland and Tanzania. Other partnership locations are in development.
