INTRODUCTION DAQ is used for collecting real time data,

calculating oil/gas rate and reporting DAQ consist of two major components HARDWARE (AKS Technologies) CONFIGRUATION & DISPLAY SOFTWARE

(Fekete Field Notes)

Page 3: Data Acquisition

HARDWARE Base Radio logger Wireless sensor Logger Cable USB Interface Cable DAQ Laptop

Page 4: Data Acquisition

BASE RADIO LOGGER Base radio logger is a heart of DAQ & key

component of acquisition system use for communicate with remote field sensors unit

Base radio logger receive data from sensor and also stored in internal removable flash memory card

A single Base Radio can communicate with 100 sensors

Receive data up to 3000’ range to field units with clear line of sight & 500’ to 1000’ with obstruction

WIRELESS SENSORS Following are the wireless sensors which are most

commonly used Pressure sensors Temperature sensors Differential sensors Flow meter sensors

SOFTWAREThree types of software are used for configuration and

display data. BRL Config (Base radio logger configuration) MB Config (Mod bus configuration) Fekete Fast Field Notes(Display & Reporting)

Page 10: Data Acquisition

BRL CONFIG Use to configure base radio logger with sensor RF ID given to sensor and same ID put in software

with the name of sensor for use which purpose e.g. Wellhead sensor have ID 1 written in software both name and ID

MODBUS CONFIG Use to configure Logger with system for acquire

real time data

Down Hole Gauges

They are the memory tools use to measure down hole pressure and temperature.

Use for BHP survey with slickline as well.

ETS Gauges

Spartek Gauges SS5067Pressure Rating: 16K & 10K PsiTemperature Rating: 177°C or 350°FO.D: 1.27” or 0.675mSensor type: QuartzLength: 27.239”

Page 37: Data Acquisition

Principle of Operation They work on Piezoelectric Effect.

Piezoelectric Effect It is the linear electromechanical interaction

between the mechanical and the electrical state in crystalline materials.

Reversible process i.e.(the internal generation of electrical charge resulting from an applied mechanical force and vice versa.)

When pressure is applied, response is in the form of Frequency.

These frequencies are then converted to real pressure by using the calibration coefficients.

Principle of Operation

Page 39: Data Acquisition

Principle of Operation

• The output signal of the reference crystal is varied with the pressure and temperature signals to reduce their frequencies from the MHz to the kHz.
