Make a Difference Day is an annual school event in which students and clubs work together to make the school better. Farrington Key Clubbers were assigned to pull out weeds and collect garbage along around Farrington High School campus fences. Some students had to actually crawl to collect milk cartoons, water bottles, lunch plates, and other garbage underneath the portables. Key Clubbers worked diligently despite the heat to get the job done. It was a great event and everyone had fun. BY: Jhon Malabed

Every year, Punahou Key Clubbers volunteer at Kapiolani Hospital's Holiday Physician's Dinner. Some Key clubbers helped serve food to the doctors and their families, and cleaned up tables. Other Key clubbers watched the doctors' kids and helped entertain them with arts and crafts. It is a very joyful experience because it is an opportunity to serve people who also give back to the community. BY: Angline Zhou

Featured Project On December 8th, Roosevelt High School’s Key Club helped out Kiwanis along with UH Manoa’s Circle-K, Punahou, Farrington, St. Louis, and Kaiser in this year’s Honolulu Marathon. Our members got up just before dawn to head down towards the site and helped set up tables. Donned in their bright yellow volunteer shirts and caps, Roosevelt then assisted the staff by stacking cups and filling them with water to pass to the runners as they came down the road. Each one of the members were laughing and thoroughly enjoying the race while serving cups of water and Gatorade. Although everyone got his or her shoes, pans, and shirts soaked with water, no one seemed to mind. It was a great way to introduce new members to the bigger events and have the older members do this event once again. Roosevelt loved serving at the Honolulu Marathon and we’re anxiously waiting for next year’s marathon. BY: Marleen Tana
