• User community organized into series of Specialized Support Centers (SSCs)

• Goals of an SSC:– Increase number of active users in the community– Promote use of grid technologies within the community– Encourage cooperation within the community– Safeguard knowledge and expertise of the community– Build scientific collaboration within and between communities

• An SSC will be a central, long-lived hub for activities within a given scientific community.
