Arc Fault/Ground Fault Analyzer
Circuit Analyzer
Circuit Analyzer
Product DescriptionEaton’s Cutler-Hammer Circuit Analyzer provides accurate testing of AFCI and GFCI devices while also testing for faulty wiring conditions. There are other testing devices on the market but this will be the only one available from an AFCI manufacturer. Eaton has more than 100 years of electrical control and power distribution experience, and a thorough understanding of what arc faults are all about. This experience with AFCI breakers led to developing a patented feature of the analyzer that will save contractors time and aggravation. It allows contractors to verify whether they have a grounded neutral simply by depressing the red Neutral Isolation test button. In this way, they will be able to determine whether they have a grounded neutral or have other neutrals connected before they leave the job site. Additionally, the Circuit Analyzer has a button that tests AFCI and two that test GFCI devices (both 40 mA and 8 mA).
Application DescriptionThe Circuit Analyzer serves as a handy troubleshoot-ing tool for contractors and electrical inspectors. It’s a circuit analyzer that provides accurate testing of AFCI and GFCI devices while also testing for faulty wiring conditions.
Features, Functions and Benefits✓ All-in-one tester for ground fault, arc fault and faulty
wiring conditions. ✓ Neutral Isolation Test Button is a patented feature
that allows the contractor to determine whether they have a grounded neutral or have other neutrals connected before leaving the job.
✓ Additional test button for AFCI and two that test GFCI devices (40 mA and 8 mA).
✓ Only product available from an AFCI manufacturer.✓ Three standard accessories enhance the
usefulness of the Circuit Analyzer:– An alligator clip attachment to test hardwired
circuits, such as smoke detectors, that lack a receptacle. The clip simply is attached to the smoke alarm’s terminals
– An adapter (3-prong to 2-prong) for testing in older homes that lack 3-prong receptacles
– Light socket adapter for AFCI testing when no receptacle is available. Examples are ceiling fans that contain sockets and recessed lighting
– Additionally, the Circuit Analyzer comes with a black carrying case
Technical Data and SpecificationsHOW IT WORKS1. Plug the tester (or one of the accessories) into the
receptacle, light fixture or hardwired terminals to be tested.
2. Check the wiring LEDs on the Circuit Analyzer to determine if the circuit is wired correctly.
3. If the circuit is wired correctly, then proceed to test for Neutral Isolation, Arc Fault or Ground Fault conditions, depending on the breaker or receptacle type that is on the circuit.
4. To perform these tests, press the corresponding button on the Circuit Analyzer and review the results.

Meter Breaker Technical Data and Dimensions . . . 3-10
Residential Meter Breakers and Non-EUSERC Panel
Product DescriptionA meter breaker combines two products into one: a single meter socket and a loadcenter, a.k.a. the circuit breaker box. Sometimes these units are called all-in-ones or combo units. Certain utilities will specify a meter breaker instead of a meter socket and load-center. The meter breaker is used where electricity enters a home or dwelling. The utility attaches a meter in the socket to measure power consumption. The loadcenter portion is used to distribute the power throughout the home using various circuits.
Features, Functions and Benefits✓ Variety of designs to meet local utility
specifications.✓ Meets NEC wire bending space requirements.✓ Commercial grade main breaker.✓ Overhead or underground service.✓ Raised interior with built-in wireway for easier

sProduct DescriptionThe water pump pressure switch is used to operate a water pump in commercial, residential and agricultural applications. The pressure switch opens or closes electrical contacts in response to pressure changes to maintain the pressure in your water system. This helps to ensure a smooth delivery of water into your house. The pressure switch can be used on all types of pumps.
PULSATION PLUG (20 – 40 PSI PRESSURE SWITCH ONLY)Pulsation plug reduces water surges to the switch that would cause the switch to go on and off rapidly every pulse it received. This prevents your pump from cycling on and off which shortens the pump motor life.
LOW PRESSURE CUT-OFF (20 – 40 & 30 – 50 PSI PRESSURE SWITCHES ONLY)Low pressure cut-off prevents pump from burning up due to lack of water in the well. Will shut down the switch if the pressure drops to 10 PSI below the turn on pressure.

How Much Can You Afford to Lose?Homeowners often underestimate, or ignore, their investment in electrical and electronic equipment...an investment which could be wiped out by an unchecked voltage surge. The cost of replacing electronic equipment in an aver-age home is $8,000. Add a few extra items and the cost can rise dramatically — up to $20,000 for sophis-ticated entertainment systems and home offices.Where does your home fall on the list? Pick the spot on the chart to the right that best represents your home. It will show your approximate level of investment and risk, without considering compensa-tion, if any, from homeowner’s insurance.“Silence the surge” with Eaton’s Cutler-Hammerresidential surge protection products.

Product DescriptionA generator is a device designed to provide substitute electrical power to a residence in the event of a utility power outage or other emergency. There are two basic types of generators: portable and standby. A portable generator is a wheeled unit that requires you to roll the generator outside, start it up, and hook it up to a power inlet box. Power is then transferred manually from the main line to the generator. One of the clear advantages with an automatic standby generator system is that the unit turns itself on and off automatically without you ever having to leave the safety of your home.
Features, Functions and BenefitsPORTABLE GENERATORS✓ Reliable, convenient and versatile to use. ✓ Connects up to six essential household circuits.✓ Provides up to 12 hours of uninterrupted run time
(at 1/2 load).✓ Manual power transfer.✓ Fold-down handle.✓ Available in 3250, 5500 and 7000 watt ratings.
STANDBY GENERATORS✓ The ultimate in convenience and power.✓ Fully-automatic operation.✓ Extra quiet operation.✓ Powered by natural gas or liquid propane.✓ All-weather protection and durability.✓ Built-in diagnostic center that relays
performance messages.✓ Available with Air Cooled Engine from
7000 – 12,000 watts.

Data TablesWhen selecting the essential circuits that will be switched to “Backup Power,” it is important that the sum of the combined circuit loads does not exceed the wattage/amperage capacity of the generator. Add up the total wattage of all electrical devices to be connected at one time. This total should NOT be greater than the generator’s wattage capacity.TABLE 9-1. CIRCUIT SELECTION — SIZING YOUR GENERATOR
Device Running Watts
Air Conditioner (12,000 Btu)Air Conditioner (24,000 Btu)Air Conditioner (40,000 Btu)
To help you with your selection of essential circuits, please consider the following:
■ The rated wattage of lights can be taken from light bulbs. The rated wattage of tools, appliances and motors can usually be found on a data plate or decal affixed to the device.
■ If the appliance, tool or motor does not give wattage, multiply 120 volts times the ampere rating to determine watts (volts x amps = watts).
■ Some electric motors (induction types) require about three times more watts of power for starting than for running. This surge lasts for only a few seconds. Be sure you allow for this high starting wattage when selecting electrical devices that will be energized by the backup power system:— Figure the watts required to start the largest motor.— Add that to the total running watts of all other connected loads.

Extra StuffA power outage is more than an inconvenience. It could cost you thousands of dollars.✓ Loss of heat (even gas
furnaces have electric fans) could send families to motels and restaurants.
✓ Basements flood when sump pumps have no power.
✓ Food spoils when freezer and refrigerator are out.
Your home, and what’s inside it, is the biggest and most important investment you will ever make. So why leave it all to chance?

Transfer Switches Product DescriptionWhen your normal power source has been inter-rupted, a transfer switch is used to transfer your homes circuits to generator power. Transfer switch selection varies depending on the needs of the homeowner and the type of generator. Manual transfer switches are typically used with portable generators. With this type of switch, the homeowner must transfer power manually each time the utility power is interrupted. Automatic transfer switches monitor utility and generator voltages and will automatically connect to the appropriate source. When the power goes out, the transfer switch automatically senses the power disruption, signals the generator to turn on, and transfers power from utility to standby power for the duration of the power outage. When utility power is restored, the switch senses that power has returned, shuts down the generator and resumes monitoring.
