OBJECTIVES OF CULTURAL UNIT

The cultural unit of Our Sri Rudra Gowda Patial Government

First College Bilagi District: Bagalkote was established in the

academic year 1992-93 and continuously organizing various cultural

activities for the intellectual, physical and emotional development of

the students and has its own history and heritage. Many of the

students who participated in this forum are working towards

becoming successful communicators as well as cultural

ambassadors. Since then, many great personalities have successfully

led the unit. The details of those who led the cultural unit over the

past five years are as follows –

CULTURAL UNIT COMMITTEE- 2019-20

1. Conducting Various Competitions Of Singing Folk Songs,

Film Songs, Devotional Songs for students to provide an

opportunity to bring out their respective talent.

2. Conducting a speech competition for rhetorical and intellectual

development among students.

3. Organizing the Rangoli Competition for the Development of

Artistic Expression.

4. Organizing the Opening and Closing Ceremony of various

activities.

5. Conducting the Essay Competition to enhance the writing

skills of students and to improve their thinking ability.

The cultural Unit of our college is organizing various activities

for students successsfully during the year 2019-20 under the

leadership Prof. Chandrasekhar Hegde. The inauguration event of

Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and Guides etc. activities and the

welcome for first year students for the year 2019-20 was held on 31-

08-2019. Chief Guest of the function Honble Shri Murugesha R.

Nirani Member of Legislative Assembly Government of Karnataka

and President of College Development Committee addressed the

students and suggested to develop self confidence to face the

challenges of IT era. Students should acquire the education and

skills which they need to build their future lives. Honble Shri S. R.

Patil, Leader of Opposition party addressed the gathering and

emphasized on importance and role of the co curricular activities

along with curricular aspects.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief guest, Honble Sri

Hanamantha Nirani Member of Legislative Assembly "Success is

easier if students are educated with diligence and perseverance."

Shri Sidhu Diwan, one of the keynote speakers, guided the students

to develop a hobby of reading books as everything in life is covered

in literature. The Principal who took over the program was Dr. S.

H. Tekkennavar guided the students to receive knowledge from all

the sources.. Welcomed by Pro. Mounesh Kammar. Host by Prof.

Chandrakant Nayak. Pro. Bapuji Kataraki gave vote of thanks.

67 students participated in the Folk Song Contest held on 13-

03-2020. 52 students introduced their talent in the Speech

Competition. 32 students participated in the Rangoli competition

held on 11-03-2020. 49 students participated in the devotional song

singing Competition on 12-03-2020. 62 students participated in the

folk song Singing Competition on 11-03-2020, unveiling their

the First prize in the Bilagi Taluka Level Essay Writing

Competition held on the occasion of Vachana Day

Celebration

And also She participated and Got the Certificate in the

Karnataka State Level Kannada Quiz Competition

organized by Govt First Grade College Chikkodi

(Belagavi) on 14-06-2020

And She participated in the Central Level Quiz

Competition on “Conservation of Environment and

Water” organized by Akashawani Dharwad on 23-12-

2019 and got certificate of Appreciation

talents. On the same day, 60 students participated in the

Bhavageete singning competition.

Due to the pandemic situation created by Covid - 19, the

closing ceremony of the cultural, sports and NSS activities for the

year 2019- 20 was not organized.

The Cultural Unit was organized various events for students

successfully during the year 2018-19 under the leadership of Prof.

Chandrashekhar Hegde. The inauguration of Cultural, Sports, NSS,

Scouts and Guides etc. for the year 2018-19 was held on 06-10-2018

and the first year students were welcomed. The Honble Shri S. R.

Patil addressed the students as Chief Guest and motivated to

acquire knowledge and skills from the Higher education. Students

can achieve their goals easily if they study with diligence. Honble

Shri Hanamanta Nirani Member of Legislative Council guided the

students to become self-employee rather than seeking government

jobs. The Principal Dr. S. H. Tekkennawar who presided over and

suggested to take advantage of all the facilities of the college.

Honorable Shri Murugesh Nirani Member of Legislative Assembly

and Chairman of the College Development Committee guided the

students to achieve goals successful life. Prof. Bapuji Kataraki

welcomed. Host by Pro. Chandrakanth Nayak. Pro. Mounesh

Kammar gave vote of thanks.



Seven students participated in a one day state level seminar on

Literature of Basavaraja Kattimani held at Bhandari Arts College

Guledgudda on 29-09-2018. Essay competition on "Gandhiji's

Principles of Life" was held on 01-10-2018 on the occasion of

Gandhiji Jayanthi. 38 students participated in the competition. 27

students participated in the Folk Song Contest held on 17-01-2019.

23 students introduced their talent in a speech competition held on

27-03-2019. The same day, 30 students participated in the Rangoli

competition and performed their art. The Essay Competition was

held on 27-03-2019, in which 29 students participated. 35 students

participated in the singing Devotional song Competition held on 28-

03-2019. 43 students performed their talents in the singing of film

song competition that took place on the same day. Kumara

Shanthaiah Panchagattimath from the BA section of our college and

Ashoka Koppa from the B.Com section who participated in the one

day state level Debate competition held in S.R. Kanthi College

Mudhol. on 09-03-2019, obtained the Appreciation Certificate.

The closing ceremony of the Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and

Guides etc held on 13-04-2019 and the farewell ceremony of the final

year students were organized by the Unit. The keynote speaker,

Mr. Siddarama Shirola, Member of College Development

Committee addressed the students to achieve excellence with the

help of modern digital age. Principal Dr. S. H. Tekkennavar gave

presidential speech and guided the students to develop the courage

to face future challenges. Kumari Sumangala Pattar was awarded

Kumari Siddamma Jyali from BA II year won the third prize in

the Dharawad Divisional Inter Collegiate Debate Competition

held on 27-02-2019 at Basaveshwar Arts College Bagalkote.

English subject at Rani Chennamma University result. Annual

Report was read by Prof. Chandrashekhar Hegde. All the members

of the College Development Committee were present. Prof. Mounesh

In 2017-18, our college’s cultural Unit was led by Pro.

Chandrasekhar Hegde. The inauguration of Cultural, Sports, NSS,

Scouts and Guides etc. and the first year students reception was

organized on 04-07-2017. Kumar Irayya Mathpathi from BA Final

Year, Kumari Parvathi Shivanala from B Com Final Year, Kumar

Hanamantha Saroor from BA Final Year, Kumar Vishal Kolurmath

from BA Final Year participated and got certificate of appreciation

in the Inter-College Zonal and the University Level Competition

organized in Basaveshwara Arts College Bagalkot and also in S. R

Kanthi College of Arts and Science Mudhol respectively.

Twenty Students from BA and BCom section participated and

won prize certificates in the VACHANA KAMMATA examination

held on 18-02-2018. Shravan Chalavadi and Yallappa Valayakar

studetns from B.A. Final year participated and got certificate of

celebration.


Appreciation in 2 nd State lavel quiz Competition conducted by

J.S.S. College Mysore on 02-03-2018. Twenty students from

Graduation and Post Graduation sections participated in the

Rangoli art Competition held on 23-03-2018. The Essay Competition

was held on 24-03-2018 entitled “Role of Mass Media in the

Personality Evolution of Youth”. 26 students participated in the

competition. On the same day, 23 students participated in the

devotional song singing competition and performed their talents. 26

students participated in the lyrical song singing competition held on

25-03-2018. The following day, 33 students participated in the

Rangoli Competition and Film song singing Competition held on 26-

03-2018. 24 students participated in the Folk Song singing Contest

held on 27-03-2018. Speech Contest was held on 28-03-2018 and 40

students participated in the event.

Closing Ceremony of Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and Guides

etc. organized on 28-03-2018 and the farewell ceremony of the final

year students on the same day. The Chief guest Dr. Sriram

Ittanavara folk scholar addressed the students to enjoy the folk

literature. Another guest Dr.Yashwant Kokkanavar Assistant

Professor of Kannada GFGC Hunur guided the students to cultivate

and respect our indigenous culture. The other chief guest Mr.

Anaviraiah Patimath addressed the gathering and inspired students

to respect our rituals. The Principal Dr. S. H. Tekkennavar presided

In 2016-17, our college’s cultural Unit was led Prof.

Chandrakanth Nayak. The inauguration of the Cultural, Sports,

NSS, Scouts and Guides etc. activities -2016-17 and welcome for the

first year students’ were organized in the college Auditorium hall

on 24-08-2016. Inaugurating the Postgraduate Degree in Commerce

section, the chief guest Hon. Shri J.T. Patil Member of Legislative

Assembly and President of College Development Committee

addressed the students to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Students from rural areas to pursue a postgraduate degree and

become responsible citizen of our country. Inaugurating the

activities Hon. Shri. S. R. Patil Member of Legislative Council

guided the students to take advantage of locally available

educational facilities and create a better future. Another chief Guest

Hon. Shri. H. R. Nirani Member of Legislative Council inspired

students to achieve all-round development. Smt. Hasimbi

Nimbalkar and Shrishail Sulikeri The President of the Taluka

Panchayath Beelagi were present. Shri .V. V. Ghorpade Retired

Dharwad & Prof. Meer Ali Rajvi were felicitated by Principal Dr.

S.H. Tekkennavar on the occasion of the function. Pro. M. V.

Kammar read the Oath for first year students. The Principal Dr. S.

H. Tekkennavar presided over the occasion and inspired students to

develop their educational personality. Students from third semester

performed prayer. Prof. M. V. Kammar welcomed and introduced.

Various competitions were held by the unit on the occasion

of the anniversary. Singing Devotional Song Contest was held for all

students of BA & B.Com on 06-02-2017. 17 students participated

and unveiled their talents. There were about 18 students from

various disciplines participated in the Folk Songs singing

Competition conducted On 07-02-2017,. About 15 students

participated in the singing lyric song competition held on 08-02-

2017. Singing Movie Song Contest was held on 09-02-2017 and 18

students performed their talents. Speech Competition was held on

10-02-2017 and 21 students from B.A and B.com sections

participated. About 15 students from the BA. BCOM and MCom

sections participated in the essay competition conducted on Date:

11-02-2017. 15 students from various disciplines participated in the

Rangoli Competition held on 13-02-2017. On the next day, 12

students participated in the Mehandi Competition. Closing

Ceremony of Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and Guides etc. activities

and the farewell ceremony for the final year students organized on

22-04-2017. The chief guest Honble. Shri. S. R. Manahalli Director

M. H. R. D. BVV Sangha Bagalkote addressed and motivated the

students to develop self-employment skills. Honble. Shri. B. N.

Mundaragi and Sri Rahman Bagawan Member of the College

During the educational year 205-16, the Cultural Unit led

by Prof. Chandrakanth Naik Department of Political Science.

Inauguration of Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and Guides activities

and welcome for first year students was held at the college hall on

15-09-2015. The Chief guest Honorable Shri. J.T. Patil Member of

Legislative Coucil and Chairman of the College Development

Committee addressed the students and suggested to work hard to

reach our goals. Dr. M. V. Kammar read the Oath for First year

students. Another guest Smt. Sunanda N. Annegeri President Town

Munciple Council, motivated the students to participate actively in

all activities of the college regularly to acquire life skills.The

Principal Dr. S. H. Tekkennavar presided over the function and

guided the students how to achieve best performance in the

examinations. Kumari Keerthi Sonna sang the prayer. Shri.R. B.

Marigowdar welcomed and introduced. Prof. S. H. Narayani gave

vote of thanks..

Various competitions were held by the unit on the occasion

of anniversary. Speech contest was organized on the subject of "The

Glories of Democracy" on 08-02-2016. 40 students from BA and



B.Com section participated actively. On the next day, devotional

singing competition was held for all BA and B.Com students. 24

students participated and unveiled their talents. On 10-02-2016,

about 22 students from various disciplines participated in the Folk

Songs Singing Competition and expresssed their talents. About 24

students participated in the lyric singing competition on 11-02-2016.

Shravanakumar Khadi student from BA section participated in the

state level debate competition held at Hurakadli Ajja Law College

Dharwad and got appreciation certificate. The closing ceremony of

the Cultural, Sports, NSS, Scouts and Guides etc activities for the

year 2015-16 and the farewell ceremony for the final year students

were organized on 30-03-2016.
