Free crowdfunding for your community
Jul 15, 2015
Donation and reward crowdfunding is….When someone with a good idea asks a group of individuals, the ‘crowd’ to contribute a small amount of money in return for a reward…
CrowdPatch
The crowd then contribute to the idea…
This helps the person with the good idea receive the funds they need to make their idea a reality!
Contributors receive somethingin return, a reward, to sweeten the deal!
• We are a social enterprise, CIC, Founded in late 2013
• Our goal is to create a network of self sustaining communities through crowdfunding
Who Are CrowdPatch?
Who Is CrowdPatch For?
CrowdPatch is for Those who want to:
• Raise funds for free by crowdfunding, where typically they would pay a 5 – 15% transaction fee on other websites.
• Contribute funds to worthy projects.
• Connect and communicate with others in the local area or those with similar interests.
• Make positive changes to their local community.
The First Ever Crowdfunding project!
• Joseph Pulletzer was first in 1884!
• The New York Committee required over $100,00 to build a plinth to house the Statue of Liberty
• He advertised in his own Newspaper The World
• Average contribution was less than $1
• Contributors received a mini statue in return
• $100,000 was raised in 5 months as a result
• Today, we can use the internet and social media to perform a similar task
However, most projects fail…….
• 60% of crowfunding projects fail* This is thought to be almost wholly due to lack of planning and professional help with communicating the needs of the project.
• Crowdfunding is about building and connecting with your community. The MONEY bit comes after you have succeeded with the CONNECTING bit!
• Local projects suffer especially due to the creative, marketing, and multimedia resources they typically lack to help them connect their community

Patches
• CrowdPatch offers projects a way to supercharge the crowdfunding process, by providing a way to create and connect communities, we call these communities patches.
• We help those who wish to lend a hand to build these communities and help to crowdfund projects, our patch leaders, to establish their own patches and connect with others.
We encourage patch participation in the following ways:
• Making a project video
• Pitch writing
• Writing content and press releases for a project
• Contribution to projects!
• Sharing content with those who may influence others
• Organising events
• Project coordination
Presently, we provide this support. However, we believe that these roles could be fulfilled by CSR participation
Patch support…the team!
Connected Communities, Our Patchwork
• Our network encourages growth through patch connection. This means that more contributors, collaborators and connected users will understand your corporate involvement
• Furthermore; a patch will gain gravitas by the association of other patches, and so, with your help, projects will flourish!
• Even further reach may also be gained seamlessly by automatically connecting social media channels to a patch
Why we need your help
We can help companies to demonstrate community impact through our patches
Companies may have direct Involvement with members affiliated to a patch and further reach through associated social media channels
In return we require financial support from business. This will allow a patch leader to support the community by helping them to manage their selected crowdfunding projects
Winning Combinations…!We have aligned businesses to the projects below, and shown that they have contributed to making a positive impact on their community:
• 3d printers into schools• Woodwork courses for homeless people• A community newspaper• A documentary movie• Multiple charitable fundraises
These projects are presently being shared throughout our patchwork of connected communities.
The Next Generation
Here are some examples of our up and coming projects, patches and patchworks:
• Crowdfunding regional education hubs for Bloodhound, the fastest car in the world project
• A collection of patches to collectively crowdfund The festival celebrating the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta
• Crowdfunding a memorial to commemorate those lost in the 7/7 bombings by residents and business of Tavistock Square
More projects and patches are arising daily!
What do we need?
• We will shortly appoint a commercial director who will be tasked with assisting each patch leader, as well as CrowdPatch CIC overall, to make their role sustainable through corporate, likely CSR, funding
• We require initial funding to cover the cost of this resource
• Your involvement would be greatly appreciated!
