Cathy Weaver

As the senior creative for the University Marketing Services at Kettering University, I coordinated and provided art direction for professional photo and video shoots including choosing student & faculty talent. As creative coordinator, I worked within geo targets to locate and name companies that would provide opportunity for on-location photo shoots of students at their co-op positions. Managing the photo assets included determining shots needed, or acquiring media from outside agencies. I created comprehensive branding identity standards for university use. As a team player, I was often called upon to sit on planning committees for large university events, coordinating the marketing and creative needs on campus and with outside vendors. In addition, I designed much of the marketing & visual collateral for the university. I am looking for new opportunities to expand my career. “Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life.” ~ Pablo Picasso

Painting in reverse on glass began as an exercise to stretch my creativity. What it became was my passion. I also enjoy painting in soft pastel, acrylics and mixed media. I am currently represented by Merge Gallery and Studios in Oxford, MI.

I met Cathy before stepping onto Kettering University campus as a student. She had created an online message board before they were common for accepted students to chat and get to know one another prior to stepping foot on campus. There were also some current students and faculty on it to answer any questions or concerns we might have.

After that, I was involved and witnessed the compelling work she did including “In the Zone” magazines for high school students and executing the “Perfect Fit” campaign after its first year saving KU $40,000/yr.

She was able to understand what drew students to Kettering and create unique marketing material showcasing those traits.

~ Kelly Mager Fabrication Project Coordinator at Guardian Industries

Cathy provides excellent insights into high-impact and best-in-class design choices. We’ve used Cathy’s highly original and visually work in crucial project and grant proposals where her professional eye helped us reinforce the “story” with powerful visuals.

Cathy works quickly, often providing spot-on drafts within a day when the rush is on.

It is a pleasure working with Cathy due to her blend of creative talent and execution skills — it’s easy to enthusiastically endorse her!

~ Neil Sheridan Corporate and Public Executive / Boards / Adviser

Cathy has the rare ability to create, develop, and execute the entire process of an envisioned end product - albeit photo shoots or magazines. Her creative talent and ability to direct have combined to achieve exceptional results in the creation of marketing publications and materials. The envisioned end products that Cathy delivers are beyond that of any individual I have seen in her field.

By working with Cathy, you are working with one of the best – someone who can really define and capture what your product or service is with positive first impressions from your customers.
