Acknowledgement
Once you submit your application the Council for the Teaching Profession will issue an acknowledgement receipt by
e-mail.

A Temporary Warrant is valid for one scholastic year.
An application for the Renewal of a Temporary Warrant is to be submitted at the beginning of the second year of teaching.

Employees in Non State Schools are to attach a copy of their approval of appointment.
Please note that there is no need to resubmit copies of qualifications with renewal form

Applications for a Teacher’s Warrant under Article 24 (B.Ed/PGCE) are to be submitted at the beginning of the third scholastic year.

Qualification criteria for the recommendation of a Teacher’s Warrant under Article 24
• is in possession of a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Bachelor Degree together with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education;
• Satisfies the Council that he/she has received adequate experience in the practice of the teaching profession under supervision in school or provider for further education as defined in Article 63 which school is recognised by the relevant competent authority tasked with the licensing thereof by, or under this Act, or in any other manner as the Council may decide, for an aggregate period of two scholastic years full time or its equivalent in part-time and following the completion of such degree.

Application for a Teacher’s Warrant under Article 24
Same application as for Temporary Warrant is to be filled in under Article 24 - stating clearly your Temporary Teacher’s Warrant Number;
Indicate teaching experience after graduation; Applicants in the Non State School Sector who have
changed school during their two year teaching period, are to provide an official statement from the former school/s bearing date of commencement and termination as well as indicating whether they have availed themselves of any unpaid leave;
There is no need to resubmit copies of qualifications with application form if you are already in possession of a Temporary Warrant.

Qualification Allowance
Applicants who are in possession of a further qualification may apply for a
Qualification Allowance.
This applies only to those employed within the Directorate for Educational Services.

Applicants are to fill in form and attach a certified copy of both the Degree and the detailed transcript/Europass Diploma Supplement;
If qualification is from a foreign University, a statement bearing recognition and level rating by NCFHE is also to be submitted;
Relevancy statements are only to be presented when requested by Council.
