Corbel Arch The corbel arch differs from a true arch in that the corbel uses cantilevered blocks to build the arch and therefor does not have a keystone. It is a weaker design and generally limits the builder to a higher, narrower arch. The benefit is that if you only had a small creek to cross and flat rocks as a material it would be an easy crossing to make.
