Coral Reef Destruction
WELCOME TO AN IMPORTANT MOMENT IN OUR HISTORY. A TIME
WHEN YOUR GENERATION MORE THAN ANY OTHER,
HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAVE THE WORLD.
And it all begins with fish
CORAL REEFS ARE DYING DUE TO THE THREE MAIN CULPRITS…
Overfishing
Pollution
Climate Change
Coral Reefs are the richest
ecosystem in the world.
Many of the animals
on the endangered species list live in the coral
reefs including….
Green Sea TurtleHawaii Monk Seal
Hawksbill Sea Turtle
Leatherback Sea Turtle
Scientists conclude that by 2050 coral reefs
will be completely destroyed.
2012
2050
OUR WORLD CONSISTS OF 75% WATER, AND ONLY 2 ½% OF THE WATER IS DRINKABLE.
What would you do if there was no more water?
Coral reefs are the most
endangered animal on the planet!
Already 10% of the coral reefs on earth have been completely destroyed.
And in the Philippines over 70% have been destroyed and only 5% are in good condition.
Worldwide 2 million tons of waste get dumped into the ocean everyday!
Fish is a source of food and economic substance to ½ a billion people around the world.
1/3 of the 274 most
eaten types of fish are threatened by to much
fishing!
But if we work together…..
WE can make a
difference.
Reduce
Recycle
Reuse
Just…
YOU don’t have to be a scientist to have a positive impact on coral reefs…. even on the world!
Conserve water and
volunteer for a coral reef
cleanup. Even if you don’t live near the
ocean try to help if you go on a vacation
near the water.
You can join “Save An Acre with SEACOLOGY”
You can plant a tree..
{ Just one tree can make a difference }
YOU CAN SAVE THE CORAL
REEFS!
