Nat’s House Hunting
Hi Coorabell friends,
Natalie, Hiva and Kuhane here. We are looking for a new home to rent, as our current home (that we’ve been in for the past four years) is being renovated extensively and we have until the first week of May 2019 to move. If you know of anything in this area or beyond, please send me a text or call me on 0478613131. My email is [email protected]. We come with a sparkling reference from our current landlady. Thank you :D

The WORST War!!!
By Harlem Selvey
Chapter 1 Bomb attack!
‘Cover your heads! Run to the safest place you can find! They are about to attack! I repeat, they are about to attack!’ Dad turned off the wrecked tv and shouted, ‘to the hiding spot!’ Dad, me, Jim and mum all rushed to the toilet.
Now you might think that our family is super weird, but our toilet is the strongest thing in our teeny wenny house (it is made of cement). So, whenever Asialiena attacks our island we run to the toilet and hide there.
My name is Jeff and I live on an island called Ernotie. Right now, Ernotie and Asialiena are fighting over 100 tons of air! Why? You see, there are now 100 billion people living on earth, and that’s only half the population! 103 billion people live on mars! So, with all those people there isn’t enough air on earth for everyone, and that’s why we are fighting over air. Anyway! Back to the story!
Right when mum slammed the door shut and locked it, we heard someone pounding on the door and shouting urgently. Then mum said something that made your heart stop. ‘where’s Jim?’
Dad kicked the door open like an angry gorilla and sprinted out of the toilet. (My dad is amazing at running). Just then me and mum
heard the worst sound you could ever hear… Boom!!!
CLASS NEWSAs part of their history learning, the
Eagles were connected via SKYPE to a special guest who arrived in Australia sixty years ago - as part of the 'Assisted Passage Scheme'. Mrs Linda Porter (grandmother of Eden & Ella), told her story of the journey from Britain to Australia with her family, as 'Ten Pound POMS'. Linda showed us the original tickets, the certificate for crossing the equator and a telegram received during the journey. Everyone had a question, and Linda did a fantastic job of connecting the class to her experience. An enormous thank you to Linda and Victoria for the event.
