Yes Dust emissions are anticipated from

operation of HEME and haulage of

material. SOx, NOx shall be emitted

from operation of mining machinery and

transport vehicles.

Vehicular emissions will be kept under

control by proper maintenance & by

regular monitoring of fuel and oil

consumption. Every effort will be made

to minimize emissions.

5.2 Emissions from production process Yes Particulate matter is emitted during

Drilling, Blasting, Haulage, Limestone handling & loading etc. suitable mitigative

measures will be taken to keep it below

prescribed limits.

5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport

Yes Loading/unloading and transportation operation of excavated material will

result in some amount of pollutants.

Proper maintenance of HEME will help

reduce such emissions. Fugitive emissions

on haul roads will be suppressed by water spray.

5.4 Emissions from construction activity Yes Dust emissions during construction of

including plant& equipment Mine office but these will be confined to a

very small area within the mining lease.

5.5 Dust or odours from handling of

materials including construction materials, sewage and waste

Yes Dust is generated during excavation and

loading/unloading operation. Dust emissions will also occur during

construction of Mine office.

No odour from mining operations or

construction operations is envisaged.

5.6 Emission from incineration of waste No Incineration activity will not be there in

the project.

5.7 Emissions from burning of waste in open air (e.g. slash materials, construction

debris)

No There will be no burning of waste in open air.

5.8 Emissions from any other sources No There will be no emissions from any other source.

quantities/rates, wherever possible)

with source of information data with

source of information data

6.1 From operation of equipment e.g. engines, ventilation plant, crushers

Yes Noise is generated due to mining activity during blasting, excavation, loading &

transportation. Proper noise abatement measures will be taken to keep noise level

within prescribed limit.

Proper selection of machinery & their

maintenance leads to less noise

generation. Greenbelt will be developed

which provides barrier to propagation of

noise outside the area.

6.2 From industrial or similar process No There is no generation of noise from any

other industrial process.

6.3 From construction or demolition Yes There will be some noise due to Construction of Mines office etc. but this

will be intermittent in nature and for small

duration.

6.4 From blasting or piling Yes As the blasting is likely to last for very short duration depending on the charge,

the noise levels over this time would be

instantaneous and short in duration. The

noise levels will decrease with increasing

distance.

PPEs will be provided to protect workers

from high noise level.

Greenbelt will be developed which will

help arrest noise propagation.

6.5 From construction or operational traffic Yes There will be some noise generation due to

movement of dumpers/excavator etc.

operation of machinery will generate

noise. It is an intermittent/slow process.

Closed cabins will be provided in all the

HEMEs with very less noise inside the

cabin.

6.6 From lighting or cooling systems No Not envisaged.

6.7 From any other sources No Not envisaged.

7. Risks of contamination of land or water from releases of pollutants into the ground or into

sewers, surface waters, groundwater, coastal waters or the sea:

S.No Information/Checklist confirmation Yes/No Details thereof (with approximate

quantities/rates, wherever possible)

with source of information data

7.1 From handling, storage, use or

spillage of hazardous materials

No No use/handling of hazardous material

takes place except periodical oil change which will be handled carefully. All the

equipment will be kept well maintained to keep it leakage free.

7.2 From discharge of sewage or other

effluents to water or the land (expected

mode and place of discharge).

Yes The sewage will be treated and disposed

through a series of septic tanks and soak

pits.

The waste water generated from

Workshop will be treated in grease

catcher/ upflow filter and the treated

water will be used for dust suppression..

There will not be any external discharge

of wastewater.

7.3 By deposition of pollutants emitted to air

into the land or into water.

Yes Dust is generated by movement of

machinery & mining operations, blasting,

excavation, loading and unloading. There

is likelihood of increase of PM

concentration (which may affect

surrounding land or water).

Impact referred above is localized,

transitory and intermittent in nature. No

likely impact on surface water is

envisaged.

7.4 From any other sources. No Not envisaged

7.5 Is there a risk of long term build up of

pollutants in the environment from these

sources?

No Not envisaged

8. Risk of accidents during construction or operation of the Project, which

could affect human health or the environment

8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc from

storage, handling, use or production of

hazardous substances

Yes Explosives will be stored in secured

magazine after taking necessary permits

from regulatory authorities.

Fuel oil storage tank will be installed near

the Mines workshop for operation of

HEME. Care shall be taken to prevent

spillage of oil.
