TAE40110 CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING AND
ASSESSMENT
Target Group: Individuals involved in providing competency based training and /or
assessment services. This qualification meets the requirement for registration as a Trainer and
or Assessor under both the Australian and PNG Quality Training Frameworks.
Participants are required to complete a total of 10 competency units to complete the full
Certificate IV qualification.
This qualification is equivalent to and replaces the previous TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training
and Assessment. The new TAE10 Training and Education Training Package was endorsed by
the Australian National Quality Council in May 2010.

NC4TRA40010 NATIONAL CERTIFICATE 4 IN
TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
The IEA College of TAFE is also offering candidates the option of receiving the National
Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. This program is offered in line with National Training
Council requirements of qualification holders to work as senior trainers. Participants who opt
to receive this qualification will be required to attend an additional Workshop after the
completion of the 3rd Workshop for TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
qualification.
8 units of competency (Components 1 and 2) of the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and
Assessment course also meet the requirements for NC2TRA20010 in Instructing and
NC3TRA30010 National Certificate 3 in Training and Assessment.

NCR2TRA20010 IN INSTRUCTING
Target Group: This workshop is suitable for people who are fairly new to the
responsibilities of conducting workplace training and assessment including those whose
responsibilities include making plans for identifying training needs, developing training
programs, conducting training and assessing competencies of staff. Training of Trainers’
The course covers three competencies. These competencies meet the PNG National Training
Council’s requirements for registration as an Instructor. The program was previously
conducted under the title of Training of Trainers’ course.

Course Program The course runs for 5 full days of very intensive workshop and requires participants to
complete a simulated workplace training project during the workshop.
Assessment Assessment will be based on completion of documented workshop activities and the
simulated workplace training project. The simulated workplace training project includes
observation and assessment of the candidate delivering competency based training and
assessment in the workplace.
Fees Fees are K3, 500.00 per participant and include Morning and Afternoon Tea and Lunch when
conducted at IEA. Fees must be paid in advance.
