Construction of contents page I started my contents page like I started my front page. To create a sense of branding I added my masthead to the top of my contents page because I hope to make music mayhem instantly recognisable. I also added contents next to it as I wanted it to be clear that this was my contents page. The date and issue number feature as they did on my front cover because they give the audience basic information about this issue of the magazine and also because they are a code and convention of music magazines. I didn’t put a drop shadow on my masthead this time but I did opt for a small sized stroke. With the word contents I put a size 9 stroke on like I did with music mayhem but I put a slight drop shadow on it. I put a white stroke on issue 1 and the date which is the first time I had added a stroke that wasn’t black. I added the editorial which appears on many contents pages. I like the editorial because it offers the readers an insight into the thoughts of the editor of the magazine and it's quite a personal touch. I placed this top left because I want the reader's eyes to be drawn to it so they can read about music mayhems philosophy and find out more information about what is in the issue. I added a lot of features to make it easier for readers to find a section they desire. With these features all I did was add a stroke.

Construction of contents page

I started my contents page like I started my front page. I put a white stroke on issue 1

and the date which is the first time I had added a stroke that wasn’t black.

I added social media links and a website so I can expand the reach of music mayhem and interact with the fans. Social media is a very important part of today's society and it would be a bad decision not to have Facebook and Twitter pages. I placed these bottom left because they are not worthy of occupying one of the hotspots but they are in a place where they will be seen by readers.

I added several images to make the contents page more attractive. I put a border around these by

using rectangles. This gives the images a funky feel and makes them much more interesting. I added a page number to one of the images to relate the pictures to the features. I also did this by putting the image of "Spencer" and a girl band named "makeup" next to the features relating to them.

I added an offer at the bottom right of the page because this is something you often see on contents pages. It offers fans a chance to receive every issue through their post whilst making a worthwhile saving (in this case 30%) and this is something that will help me build a loyal fan base. This will also guarantee that I sell quite a few copies of the magazine if I can persuade people using this offer.

I added black rectangles which I labelled features. This gives my front cover more of a clear structure and I like "more" being in capital letters as it emphasises the fact there is a lot of content in this magazine. This is how my contents page looked and I am happy with it.
