Please: NO nuts (including nutella) SCHOOL BANKING MONDAYS Strong Smart Proud At Condobolin Public School we are STRONG, SMART & PROUD Principal’s Report It has been terrific to see parents and teachers meeting to discuss what they want their children to learn. In most cases, students have also spoken with the adults about what they want to learn this year. If you were not able to speak with your child’s teacher, you can always arrange an alternative appointment. We are hoping that teachers will be able to talk to all parents about their children, even if this is through a phone call. We have a number of students travelling to Dubbo this Friday for the regional swimming carnival. Mrs King will be managing the Lachlan Zone team again this year. We wish all of the students the best in competition. Appropriate Adult Behaviour To ensure the safety of our students and our staff, I need to remind parents that admission to our school is a privilege and not a right. Adults should ensure that when visiting our school that they are not intoxicated, aggressive or using inappropriate language on or near the school grounds. I would like to thank the many visitors to our school who are responsible role models. Road Safety In the past week, teachers have noticed a number of parents parking in the middle of the road or at pedestrian crossings to collect or drop off children. This is dangerous for our students and also causes traffic to back up. For the safety of all students we remind everyone of the need to park in an appropriate location and use the pedestrian crossing when crossing the road. Needle Safety Parents are advised to keep a watch for needles and other sharp items when children are in the park to avoid needle-stick injury. Children have been advised to NOT TOUCH any needles that they find, but to TELL AN ADULT who should arrange disposal. Contact the police or hospital for information on appropriate disposal. Emergency Contact Updates We ask that all families ensure that the school is notified of any changes to mobile phone numbers and emergency contacts to ensure that parents can be contacted in the case of an emergency. P&C AGM All parents and carers are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the P&C this Thursday, 7 th March in the school library. The meeting will be held from 7pm. School Satisfaction Members of the P&C, AECG and all parents are invited to participate in a special meeting on Thursday, 21 March. Mr Peter Snowden will be conducting a discussion with interested adults as a means of making further improvements within our school. The meeting will be held in the hall from 2pm. Mr Snowden will also meet with members of the SRC earlier in the day to gain a student perspective. We have chosen to hold these meetings rather than send out surveys for parents to complete. Please come along to contribute. Deb Nay Principal
