PHU THO FARM VISITS & SERVICE

SERVICE TO OTHERS & LEARNING ABOUT FARMS

Service to others is just as important a part of the Concordia educational experience as any other subject. As a way to be able to get out and serve others, Concordia students lead and run a dun field day event for two other schools in Phu Tho Province, about three hours north of Hanoi. The visit is also focused on culture and friendship sharing, which the students from all schools had no problem getting right into.

While out in Phu Tho, Concordia students also visiting some of the LCMS International projects and learned about farm living. A highlight was a visit to a honey bee farm and getting to see the actual hives and bees.

RUNNING, JUMPING, AND A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER FUN!

Building community is a big part of who we are at Concordia Hanoi and what better way to do this than host a fun sports day out on the Concordia fields. Students had a chance to show their athletic ability and have a great time with fellow classmates as they played water balloon volleyball (great for the heat!), ran three-legged races, jumped on a bouncy castle (thank you, Santa Fe Relocations), and finished it all off with some yummy ice cream popsicles.

Thank you to all the 20+ parents and community members that came out to help run the games!

FIELD DAY FUN

VISITING ARTIST, SARAH ELLIOTTConcordia students had the fortune to spend two weeks with American artist, Sarah Elliott. Sarah lives in southern France and a full-time artist and teaches art as well as puts her own work on display there.

During her visit to Concordia and as part of the regular art class, Sarah was able to give students an artist’s insight to painting and color so that they might be able to explore their own talent and abilities in this area.

It was wonderful to have her for a full two weeks and we are always happy to host Ms. Sarah again!
