Who is he?• Jason is a concept artist who is from

San Francisco and grew up in the Bay area. He started off as an illustrating major at UC Davis college.

• He later ended up attending the California College for Arts and Crafts. He graduated from here with a fine arts degree.

• From here he has had jobs in many different placements, one of the biggest being a character art director at Pixar.

• He has worked on many different Pixar projects such as designing the entire cast of Ratatouille, the seagulls in Finding Nemo and also the Auto Pilot from Wall-e.

Work he has made

Here we can see different character designs produced by Deamer, which have been used in the feature film.

You can see from this image here the amount of detail he’s had to put into just trying to design one aspect of a character. In this case Jacque from Finding Nemo.

I particularly like this image. It is completed in detail thumbnails of robots from the film Wall-e. Some of these you can clearly recognise from the movie whereas others are just concepts which he created.

These are some character designs by Deamer for Monster Inc and Monsters University.

These images stand out to me a lot as Deamer has actually created full concept arts with colour with is rare for him to design the surroundings as well as you can see from the image to the left.

Why I admire them

The main reason why I like Jason Deamer as a concept artist is quite simply his style. I love the cartoonish yet subtitle realistic images he creates. I think the fact that a lot of the characters that he has designed have been used within the feature films as main characters creates a link when viewing the concept art. You get to see how the characters are developed from drawing to complete final pieces in high quality.
