II - Newsletter, October 2013. CONC – ARGENTINA/URUGUAY/PARAGUAY MISSION/ENCOUNTER IN INGENIERO JUAREZ: On the last week of July a group of 12 adults and youth of the square block of Santa Cruz (Parish/school/retreat house) went to Ingeniero Juarez , Province of Formosa. It is one of the poorest areas of the country where the Passionists have been present since 1970. Mission/encounter: an encounter of believers, an encounter of cultures, an intergenerational encounter, an encounter with the Kingdom present among the poorest... Basic Ecclesial Communities chose the neighbors who wished us to visit; the criterion of choice was those families who were carrying a heavy cross. At each visit, we felt the intimate presence of the Crucified and the crucified of today. We had two days of retreat, meeting with young people from first and second year of the confirmation program; searching out and sharing the dreams that Jesus awakens in our hearts. Two days were spent in meetings with the Wichí indigenous communities. We were able to enjoy every word we shared, words ripened in the silence of the forest and in communion with nature. In the midst of so much poverty, the Gospel is constantly present. The following is the witness of one of the participants in the mission: "I was able to confirm that, lived experiences such as Ingeniero Juárez, helped to display my passions, to light my inner fire. I can develop my own uniqueness in me. Formosa, I’m committed to returning and to continue working. No doubt Ingeniero Juárez leaves its mark on the soul."

MISSION/ENCOUNTER IN INGENIERO JUAREZ:
On the last week of July a group of 12 adults and youth of the square block of Santa Cruz
(Parish/school/retreat house) went to Ingeniero Juarez , Province of Formosa. It is one of
the poorest areas of the country where the Passionists have been present since 1970.
Mission/encounter: an encounter of believers, an encounter of cultures, an intergenerational
encounter, an encounter with the Kingdom present among the poorest...
Basic Ecclesial Communities chose the neighbors who wished us to visit; the criterion of
choice was those families who were carrying a heavy cross. At each visit, we felt the
intimate presence of the Crucified and the crucified of today.
We had two days of retreat, meeting with young people from first and second year of the
confirmation program; searching out and sharing the dreams that Jesus awakens in our
hearts. Two days were spent in meetings with the Wichí indigenous communities. We were
able to enjoy every word we shared, words ripened in the silence of the forest and in
communion with nature. In the midst of so much poverty, the Gospel is constantly present.
The following is the witness of one of the participants in the mission:
"I was able to confirm that, lived
experiences such as Ingeniero Juárez,
helped to display my passions, to light
my inner fire. I can develop my own
uniqueness in me. Formosa, I’m
committed to returning and to continue
working. No doubt Ingeniero Juárez
leaves its mark on the soul."
TALITA KUM 15 YEARS OF FOUNDATION.
On March 26th
, 1999, in the City of Buenos Aires, in our Nazareth House, "TALITA
KUM" , a center of FORMATION for pastoral agents working with adolescents and youth,
came into existence. It was founded by four congregations: the Marist Brothers, the
Immaculate Conception Sisters , the Augustinian Missionaries Sisters and the Passionists.
The first founders were formed in the Institute of Youth Ministry ( ISPAJ ) of Chile;
dependent on the Bishops Conference of Chile, in the early 90s. We put into practice what
we had learned in our congregational youth ministries and, in July 1999, we gave our first
courses. This year we celebrate our 15th
year and are very happy with the results of our
ministry. In July, 13th
– 18th
, 180 individuals from various parts of Argentina participated
in the five courses:
1. " The powerful beauty of my song": A course for those working with youth in the
context of poverty and social risk.
2. "Our own song" a course for youth who participate in groups embedded in contexts of
poverty and social vulnerability.
3. "The strength of the acorn": This course provides our view of " The Human Vocation".
A very fine experience with the most original game that inhabits us.
4. "Adult Educators" : A course for those who work in "Schools", to discover the
opportunities of our time in school. We call it: "From Rabdomantes (those seeking
underground water) and Springs "
5. " Back home together" - Advisors : A proposal for working with urban adolescents.
And a workshop:
1. "Get up and go": a new proposal for
those who work with pre-teens. They
were reunited with their own pre-teen
age, tracing from there, some keys with
which to accompany the boys and girls of
this age .

supportive presence, mercy and salvation in the mission entrusted to us".
