2. Objective The main objective is to learn about the different components that make a computer work. It is also a must to learn the functions of each part of the computer and how they work. 3. Outline What is a computer? Different parts that make up a computer System unit and its internal components Monitor and its function Mouse, the smallest component Keyboard, the typing device Scanner, from hard to soft copy Printer, from soft to had copy Speaker, output sound 4. What is a computer? A computer is a technical machine made up of many different physical components that are called computer hardware. 5. System unit and its internal components System unit is actually the box which contains many different small components of a computer Motherboard CPU RAM ROM SLOTS CMOS Battery 7. Monitor and its function A monitor is a device which shows and displays data or information on the computer. The function is to enable the user to see their work done on the computer. Two types of monitor are Liquid Crystal Display and Cathode Ray Tube. 8. Mouse, the smallest component It is a pointing device which allows the user to point the cursor and select information on the computer. 9. Keyboard, the typing device The keyboard is a device used to type in information to the computer. It enables the use to do work faster than having their work written. QWERTY Keyboard. 10. Scanner The scanner is an additional device which enables the user to input their hard copies such as paper documents and pictures into the computer as soft copies. 11. Printer The printer is also an addition device which enables the user to print out soft copies such as documents and pictures as hard copies. 12. Speakers Speakers are also additional devices which allow the user to hear sounds from the computer. They are used to play music, playing movies and etc. 13. Conclusion In this presentation, I have established the significance of having all the computer components in the installments. A single component has its own importance and function in the computer. Without these devices, the computer wont actually work or otherwise will not function properly.
