*Perfetti Van Melle produces and distributes candies and chewing gums in more than 130 countries worldwide. The company was established in March 2001 and is now the third largest confectionery group in the world,Employing over 14,000 people and operating 32 companies all over the world.

*From 1993 Perfetti Van Melle used SAP for its logistical and financial administration. The SAP environment consists of 10 production SAP systems, each for a specific region or operating company.

* Perfetti Van Melle India (PVMis the market leader in the Indian sugar confectionery business. Key brands in India include Alpenliebe, Center Fresh, Mentos, Happydent, Chlormint, Marbels, Big Babol, Coffitos, Center Fruit and Mentos Gum. PVM has four branches and three manufacturing units, and operates the largest distribution network in the Indian confectionery business.

•SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in data processing

•SAP is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that integrates the business processes of an organization in one system. It allows for open communication within and between all company functions.

•For SAP, a business process is the complete functional chain involved in business practices, whatever software module has to deal with it.

•SAP version implemented at PVMI is ECC 6.0.

•SAP ERP Central Component enable SAP to build and develop an environment of other products that can function upon the foundation of the central component.
