Water and Sewerage
Upgrading of Sewerage – Suva City
The existing sewerage systems in the city was constructed in 1940 and since then population growth and addition of new infrastructures in the city area has led to ageing of water and sewerage assets which resulted in overflows from the manholes, pumping stations etc. In addition, old sewers have developed cracks that allowed discharge of untreated sewage in communities and infiltration of sea water into sewers creating environmental and health problems
$15.00 $8.57
Package Sewerage Treatment Plant (Savusavu)
Savusavu at present does not have any sewerage treatment plant for the region which has a huge tourism impact. The economy of the region is expected to enhance overseas trade and facilitate future developments. A lot of developments are help up due to unavailability of a proper sewerage treatment facility
$6.897 $3.94
Package Sewerage Treatment Plant (Nabouwalu)
Nabouwalu at present does not have any sewerage treatment plant for the region. The people use septic tanks and their own disposal areas resulting in partially and sometimes untreated sewage entering nearby water courses creating environmental and health problems
$5.742 $3.281
Package Water Treatment Plant (Savusavu)
At present, the Savusavu region does not have a proper water treatment facility however have three intakes (Savudrodro A, Savudrodro B, Savuloaloa) which undergo chlorination only then stored in the reservoirs and

distributed. A proper water treatment plant is needed to treat water to better potable levels and to be able to supply more people efficiently
Package Water Treatment Plant (Nabouwalu)
The Nabouwalu area has been serviced by a reticulated water supply constructed in the late 1970s but the quality of water supplied is sub-standard. There is no filtration, and the manual chlorine dosing systems fails to reliably sterilize the water. This results in unacceptably high concentrations of bacteria and suspended solids, particularly after heavy rain
$5.17 $2.954
Package Water Treatment Plant (Korovou)
The existing supply of water is through 3 water treatment plants located at Korovou (along old king’s road), RKS School and QVS School (along Lodoni Road). The current capacity of the water supply system is inadequately reliable to meet the needs of the region. The new scheme will consist of a new intake, which will be established at Namau, along with new treatment facilities and service reservoir.Pipes from Korovou all the way to QVS has already been laid just awaiting the construction of the water treatment plant at Namau
$6.05 $3.457
Rural Water Supply Schemes Treatment Plants
Latest findings reveal that there are a total number 4297 communities falling under the category of Villages, Settlements, Government Stations and Schools in rural Fiji. 2500 of these are covered under Rural and Outer Island Water Supply by Water Authority of Fiji1797 have yet to apply or request for potable water supply. 100 schemes that already have piped water supply systems will be the recipients of the first wave of Tablet Feeder Unit Installation to be undertaken in 2012. 1463 Units for Rural and Outer Island Water Supply inclusive of 100 tablet feeder units will be installed at a total cost of $6,000,000.00 reducing the 2400 unsupplied
