SITUACIÓ GEOGRÀFICA

In Granollers there are a lot of inhabitants, so it’s a beautiful city to visit.

Granollers has got approximately 59,953 inhabitants. It is the capital of

VallèsOriental, it’s 15km from the sea. It’s surrounded by the river

Congost and the mountains: Montseny, Berti, Gallifa, Forrell, Céllecs and

Sant Bartomeu. And also Granollers it’s surrounded by these cities: Les

Franqueses del Vallès, Canovelles, Parets, Montmeló, Montornès, La Roca

del Vallès, Vilanova del Vallès, Lliçà de Vall and Lliçà d’Amunt.

In Granollers we have a lot of tourists. The Montseny is probably the place

which has got more tourists, but another place that has got a lot of

tourists is the Serra of Montnegre.

The climate is mild because the inversion is protected by the maritime

influence of the surrounding mountains.

Granollers is 10km far from Sabadell airport and 32km from Barcelona

Port, which is modern and convenient.

PARCS DE GRANOLLERS

Parc Puig of Forks

This park of 32,000m2 is located in the Serrade Llevant (Eastern Range) on the edge ofthe urbanized area between theneighbourhood of Fountain Green andindustrial Ramassar. The small elevation ofthe site and its geographical location allowus to enjoy magnificent views of the city ofGranollers.

Parc del Lledoner

It is a naturalized lake and a pond aresome of the primary irrigation system ofthese about 7 acres of green space.

Lledoner park consists of three parks hasa large lake surrounded by trees there isalso a pathway are many children playingand running and people with bikes alsothere is a place for dogs.

Parc Ramassar

The park Ramassar is a park on boys andgirls can go to play football, chat and meetmore friends and next to the park is a townsquare on grandparents go to feed animals(birds, parrots…). Sometimes peoplecelebrate birthday parties and parties andthey are funny! We recommend going toevening.

Parc Torras Villà

What is Municipal Park Torras and apartments? Municipal Park and Villa Park

Torras are the oldest in the city, more than 30 years old. With over 21,200m2, it

is the largest public green space. The main features of this park are its central

situation fully and variety of trees (over 100 species). It also includes an open

amphitheatre and a central play area.

Origin: The idea of a botanical park a long way from the hand of Naturalist

Antoni Jonch Cuspinera, who opposed it through a speech at the Centre for the

Study of the Cultural Association of Granollers 1995. The project was stopped

because although he had intended to make a park in the city, do not know

exactly where. Finally, the decision was made to make the park, although not

based on the original idea, but on a project written by Municipal Barangé-

Puchades.

CAN CABANYES

It is a natural area located south of the town of Granollers.Its name comes from the farm that was in the field. CanCabins are assigned land as green industrial park by theCan-Can Gordi Catalan, and its ecological restoration wasdriven Granollers City Council as part of a project financedby Cohesion Fund of the European Union to close formerwaste dump Palou and restore the river gorge riverenvironment. The area is listed by the plan as a specialinterest area Granollers municipal ENIM and has beenincluded as part of the River Gorge area in the Natura 2000network.

The landscape improvements and environmentalrestoration, including the recovery of riverbanks, forestregeneration and the creation of an existing artificialwetland, have increased naturalization and diversity ofriparian environments of space. Can Cabins space is a havenfor wildlife and bird River Gorge for colonizing the wetlandthat has been built. Have a great biological value in a perurban area and there have been identified 86 plant speciesand 35 bird species.

FONT DEL RÀDIUM

Fountain of Ràdium: It is three springs located inside

a forest in the mountains of Ponent. Two terraced

stone semicircle shaped with an opening to get inside

and among them a great long slab. It’s a rock and

falls vertically to the water falls into a hole made of

stone.

RIU CONGOST

The Congost is a river basin “Besós”. It is born in “la font

del Regàs”, of water from the western cliffs of the “Plana de

Vic” at the foot of “Sant Cugat de Gavadons” on the land

formed by sandstone and marl. In total, the Congost is 41

kilometres long. Usually the months of March, May and

September is when falls more water, setting highs in

August. In the river, there are lots of animals. Some of

them are: pit-roig, blauet, rossinyol bord, polla d’aigua,

garsa, ànec collverd, gavina vulgar and me mediterrania,

faisà vulgar and bernat pescaire.

MONTNEGRE

The park Montnegre, situated on the mountain

range between the Maresme and Vallès

Oriental, has an area of approximately 15,000h.

Man settled in these mountains in ancient times.

Vegetation: The geographical location affects the

climate and vegetation of these mountains.

Fauna: The variety of environments conducive that

the animal population is diverse and abundant.

MONTSENY

It is located in the Catalan pre-coastal mountain

range, which is the most massive. Three major sets

up the mountain massif: the crest of the hill of man

(1706m), Matagalls (1697m) and Plan Calm Puig

Drau (1344m) wich, togheter by Sant Marçal necks

and Collformic respectively encircle upstream Tordera.
