AUGUST BIRTHDAYS * Gary 4 th * Ava 19 th * Mrs Hannan 22 nd The Term 3 Guidelines for schools from the Department of Education were updated on Wednesday 20 th August. The forms for visitors to the school have been updated and a new form must now be signed by all visitors. The most important update requires us to be more vigilant in ensuring that staff and students DO NOT attend work/school if they are unwell. If absence is due to flu-like symptoms then you must undertake a Covid-19 test. You cannot return to work/school until a negative result is received and are symptom free. We are required to sight the negative test result so that it can be immediately reported to the Department’s Incident Report Hotline. Flu-like symptoms include:- * Fever * Cough * Headache * Earache * Shortness of breath * Conjunctivitis – sore, red eyes The South Coast Schools Sports Association – our Regional Directorate – have also advised that School Swimming and Water Safety Programs will be cancelled for the remainder of the year. Although we arrange our own program we are required to follow this decision. We will plan to run our program in Term 1 next year. Thank you to all our parents/grandparents/carers for your continued support of the drop off and pick up of students at the gate and only calling in to the office if essential. Please do not go to your child’s classroom. Please ensure to maintain social distancing outside the school gates whilst waiting for students. If you do enter the school gates you will need to go to the office and sign the COVID-19 declaration form for tracking purposes. If your child is unwell, please do not send them to school. If they are unwell at school you or your nominated emergency contact will need to collect them immediately. All vehicles in the school zone are reminded to stay at or below 40kmh, park on the correct side of the road following traffic flow rules, facing the right way, and do not perform a u-turn in the school zone. Some Before & After School Programs (OSHC) can offer Vacation Care. It would be extremely helpful if expected attendance numbers could be confirmed by the end of this week so that plans can be made and staff arranged for the upcoming holidays (28 th Sept. to 9 th Oct.). Please let Megan know by Friday if you would use this service. Only students attending the Before School program are to be on the school grounds before 8.30am. Official supervision by teachers does not commence until this time. Issue 6 of Bookclub will be sent home with the newsletter today. Please return order and payment, or online order notification, by Friday 11 th September.
