PatinaedProbably the most masculine and rugged collection of the eight iconic collec-tions by the illustrious house of South African ostrich leather, Patinaed takes us back to the early explorers and an authentic, natural world. With this vin-tage collection dedicated to aged leather, KLEIN KAROO proposes a journey through time.

Antique Saddle evokes, not without nostalgia, the dusty rides of the early Dutch explorers in the bush, or the sepia memory of Jan van Riebeeck in 1652 discov-ering this mythical place which became the famous Table Mountain watching over Cape Town.

The Patinaed collection goes beyond a mere patina of time, suggesting instead the continuity between past and present. In the same way that the Afrikaans language endures in South Africa, these colours remain unchanging, embedded within the collective South African unconscious: the dark turquoise petroleum tone of Cowboy Blue, warmed by the more feminine ardour of Flame Red; the rustic character of brown tobacco embodied in the Mink shade.

A ruggedly natural universe unfolds before our eyes.

Ainsi Antique Saddle évoque, non sans une certaine nostalgie, les chevauchées poussiéreuses des premiers explorateurs néerlandais dans la savane, ou le sou-venir sépia d’un Jan van Riebeeck découvrant en 1652 ce lieu mythique qui deviendra l’illustre Montagne de la Table surplombant la ville du Cap.
