Submit club reports by June 15 for the August Clover Chatter to [email protected].

Dententer 4-H Club In May, the Dententer 4-H Club had a yard sale. Members and leaders took shifts. Everyone was grateful to Mrs. Mettz and Debbie Dyer for providing lunch. We especially want to give thanks to Linda Ott for giving her time. She is a great supporter of our group. She had many hours helping us set up, run, and put away the yard sale. She is one of the people that helped the yard sale be successful. Some of our members attended the Spring Fair. They had lots of fun. There were rockets to watch fly. Many activities to do. Steve Sanchez had a leather craft booth. You could even make your own ice cream and eat it out of the bag. The Livestock bowl was entertaining to listen to.

Franklin 4-H Club This past month the Franklin 4-H cooking group finished off the year with a ‘‘Chopped’’ cooking competi-tion. The cooking group was given a secret ingredient, which was bacon, and had to make an item for the three judges. There were three teams competing. Each team consisted of a teen leader, and a first and second year member. They were judged on safety, sanita-tion, visual appeal, taste and originality. The winning team, with bacon butterscotch brownies, was Emma Cucchi, Hannah Patrick and Abby Bazzano. The 2nd place team made bacon pancakes and the 3rd place team made bacon bread pudding. Everybody had a great time and are already looking forward to next year’s competi-tion. Submitted by Katey Patrick

Sutter Buttes 4-H Club Because of 4-H Camp, Sutter Buttes will hold June’s monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month. (Tuesday, June 5, 2012)

The spotlight section serves to intro-duce everyone to the current 4-H All Stars. Clint Smith is a member of the Sutter Buttes 4-H Club and a Senior at Sutter Union High School this year. He has been in 4-H for 10 years and on his se-cond year term as an All Star.

Football, Track, FFA, TLC (Teen leadership council) Student Council What do you think is the most important aspect of 4-H? Responsibility of the projects. Who is an inspirational person in your life? My mom. She pushes me and helps with every aspect of my life. Why did you want to become an All Star? To achieve the highest rank in 4-H. TO ALL PYGMY GOAT PROJECT GROUPS IN YUBA AND SUTTER COUNTIES:

My name is Haley Stevenson. I’m the teen leader of the Sutter Buttes Pygmy Goat Group. Once again there is not enough money in the Yuba Sutter Fair Budget to pay for a Pygmy Goat judge. David Wortham has volunteered to judge again

this year. He is an official PGA Judge.

I think it would be great if each 4-H Pygmy Goat group would show their appreciation in some way to Mr. Wortham. He has given a lot to us considering there would not be a show without him. A card signed by your groups and/or a small gift given to him at Fair would show that we really ap-preciate his donation to our 4-H and FFA Pygmy Goat show.
