Face masks are optional at indoor worship services for those who have been fully vaccinated. Masks should still be worn indoors by those who have not yet been fully vaccinated, in accordance with CDC guidelines. Masks are not required outdoors. As you worship in person (whether indoors or outdoors), please be courteous toward one another and honor the wishes of those who desire to maintain some distance or limit physical contact. JOB OPENING: CHAPEL MANAGER Martin Luther Chapel is looking for a new Chapel Manager, to begin in August this year. The Chapel Manager is a member of the ministry staff, and is responsible for daily and weekly maintenance, cleaning and security for our building (including weekends). The Chapel Manager lives in an apartment in the building (rent-free) and receives a monthly stipend. Applications are available from the church office. Call Pastor Curt with questions or for additional information, including a detailed list of duties. BLOOD DRIVE AT MLC We've partnered with the Red Cross in East Lansing to host a blood drive in our building on Friday, August 13 from 11 am to 5 pm. Because of the pandemic, people in our community need your help more than ever, and extra precautions will be taken to ensure everyone's safety. Donations will be made by appointment only; to sign up, go to RedCrossBlood.org/Give or click the link sent out in our Friday Good News email. Aug. 13 Friday CHRIST-STUDENTS-COMMUNITY CARNIVAL We are throwing an event to celebrate our community here in East Lansing on Sunday, August 29 from 1 pm to 5:30 pm. Join us in hosting the Christ-Students- Community Carnival! We need about 60 volunteers for this event to run as planned. Every volunteer will work a shift of at least 2 hours. In exchange for your work, you will receive a meal and a free t-shirt! We need volunteers for games, food handling, face painting, watching tables, and more! Visit the church website or check the Good News email for a signup link and further information on volunteering. There will also be a signup sheet posted outside the sanctuary entrance in the narthex. 12TH ANNUAL ADAM D. NEVELLS MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING & CENTER The Adam D. Nevells Memorial Fund is in its twelfth year and as of the 2021 distribu-tions has provided over $42,000 total through individual annual scholarships & grants to the areas Adam held most dearly: Academics, Music, Athletics, Boy Scouts, and his Church. Through the continued efforts and support from our community, sponsors, and partici-pants, over these many years, the annual Adam D. Nevells Memorial Golf Outing & Din-ner has facilitated the continued growth of the Adam D. Nevells Memorial Fund. This overwhelming and heart felt support is the driving force behind the now $131,997.64 balance in Adam’s memorial fund. This base amount provides the annual interest earned that will ensure Adam’s Fund will be able to provide the annual scholar-ships and distributions back to a community he loved and was so deeply loved by, forev-er. SAVE THE DATE This year the golf outing will be held on Sunday, August 22: 12 pm registration, 1 pm shotgun start, and dinner at 5 pm. Participation will be limited to 144 golfers.
